I feel like this needs an asterix. The last president* who began his presidency as a president, had the powers of a dictator, but refused to use those powers because of morals.

While he could have used those powers to aggressively reshape the nation back to the original framework envisioned by the founding fathers, instead he followed tradition and what was expected. As such, the next "leader" of the United States embraced these powers, led a bloody siege to his opponents, and thus began the beginning to the end of what was once called the United States of America. Father Trump, as he demanded to be called, partnered with Russia and North Korea, in effect beginning WWIII. The American people were "shocked"

Edit: weird that Android phones auto correct WWIII to WWII? Or is that just my phone for some reason? It doesn't matter. We're fucked

in effect beginning WWII.

Didn't that already happen?

[–] Klear@lemmy.world 11 points 4 months ago

War. War never changes.

[–] entropicshart@sh.itjust.works -3 points 4 months ago

refused to use those powers ~~because of morals~~ on anything but supporting genocide.

FTFY

Their internal polling must be ugly AF to necessitate this.

I'm visiting with the fam for the 4th. My grandparents keep CNN on 24/7.

CNN has been running "Biden should step down" as their main lead, all week. Every show has at least one segment on it.

They're saying stuff like "70% of democrat voters think he is not fit" or something like that (dunno what their polling data and methodology are though.)

I expect that these 24/7 news networks can apply a lot of pressure to drive a story like this.

Edit: I may have misquoted those polls. Which I think shows how bad CNN's reporting is. They just said something very different came out of a Reuter's poll.

Better shoot this at 9am so Joe's sundowning ass doesn't fall asleep on TV again

[–] GlassHalfHopeful@lemmy.ca 13 points 4 months ago

Gotta be honest, I'm normally sleepy at that time as well. Late is late.

[–] robocall@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

There are claims that Biden only functions between 10am-4pm.

[–] demizerone@lemmy.world 21 points 4 months ago (1 children)

And to demonstrate his newly granted powers, he should have Stephanopoulos sent to gitmo.

[–] Reverendender@sh.itjust.works 19 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Nah, just Waterboard him on live tv. We don't even need GITMO anymore!

[–] catloaf@lemm.ee 4 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Can we get Sean Hannity in there too? It's been 15 years, 2 months, and 10 days since he promised to be waterboarded for charity.

It's a good move to be public like this, but if it's another train wreck, it's time for an intervention. I'm sure everyone involved gets that.

[–] njm1314@lemmy.world 10 points 4 months ago (1 children)

That live speech he gave in the North Carolina rally on the next day after the debate wasn't a train wreck.

[–] Assman@sh.itjust.works 10 points 4 months ago

Probably won't be a teleprompter at this interview

[–] cabron_offsets@lemmy.world 10 points 4 months ago

Time for an intervention was Friday fucking morning. Better late than never, though. I’m honestly hoping that both candidates fuck off and die before the election. FWIW, I am voting D no matter what.

[–] robocall@lemmy.world 11 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Stephanopoulos will interview Biden on Friday, with the “extended” interview, as ABC News terms it, set to air on Sunday on This Week and Good Morning America on Monday.

I'd like to see him in a live interview.

[–] kandoh@reddthat.com 4 points 4 months ago

Maybe one not conducted by a former democratic press secretary

[–] snausagesinablanket@lemmy.world 5 points 4 months ago (1 children)

And then Fox will do one with King Trump.

[–] cabron_offsets@lemmy.world 7 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (1 children)

Doubt. Notice how quiet trump’s camp is. They have the upper hand and they know that Brandon is completely fucked. Why draw attention?

It’s frightening that their campaign is being run by someone intelligent. Someone who was able to get through to trump and convince him not to be an odious asshole during the debate.

My man, we are all fucked.

[–] evatronic@lemm.ee 2 points 4 months ago (2 children)

Trump can't stay out of the spotlight long. He's wholly incapable of not being the center of attention.

In other news, did you see his name in those Epstein records? Turns out he allegedly raped a few kids, so there's something fun for Republicans to ~~condone~~ ignore.

[–] kandoh@reddthat.com 2 points 4 months ago

Americans would rather vote for a pedophile than a weak old man

[–] cabron_offsets@lemmy.world 1 points 4 months ago

Bro. Raping kids is going to get him more votes. They’re fucking degenerates.

[–] xc2215x@lemmy.world 5 points 4 months ago

Not sure about this. Time will tell.

[–] cabron_offsets@lemmy.world 0 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Nah bruh, we’re fucked. Get ready for trump.
