One of the chuddiest roommates I ever had once said "just get a loan and start a business."

He was a retail worker with very few hours per week, depending upon his parents to pay his rent, and he sided with his boss over the lack of hours, somehow blaming the customers for not buying more slop. marx-joker

Completely domesticated and servile

There’s a reason “loyalty” starts with the letter L.

Rainbow Dash in shambles.

Anytime someone says how easy it is to do whatever liberal bullshit, I always ask them "Then why haven't you done it yourself?"

This question works great on people complaining about "illegals on welfare" too. If it's so easy for people outside of this country to scam the government, then why aren't you out there getting all that free shit for yourself? Just quit your job and collect your caddie and surf n' turf dinners.

Most of the time I hear this it's from some white boomer who got actually did get a job by walking into a random place and giving the owner a firm handshake then getting a low interest mortgage off the back of it.

They will then go on to complain about how everything is worse now except for it being impossible for anyone born after them to do the same.

the maoist uprising against the landlords was the largest and most comprehensive proletarian revolution in history, and led to almost totally-equal redistribution of land among the peasantry

This isn't being out of touch, this is flexing.

He knows he can say whatever he wants and get away with it.

The average freeze-gamer will continue to consume product and pay no attention to such statements.

It’s even a bloody meme among the Pokémon fandom. “You’ll buy it anyway.”

I deadass had to tell myself they’d pull that crap when Violet rolled around. Maybe the anti-gg crowd was right. Gamers may not be dead, but gaming certainly is. I don’t think I’ve played a non “retro” game in about a year except for two games: Hades and Have a nice death. Literally no one has made anything worth playing, especially from the triple A realm.

Ah, they're finally going back to 1800s Oil Baron, "Fuck you, you fucking poors" kinda refreshing.

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 15 points 2 months ago (1 children)

They won't even bother building public works buildings this time around and instead place their dubious "philanthropy" into fever dreams of godhood and ascension. Totally for our sakes, of course.

I really missed you when you were gone Care-Comrade Your ability to portray disgust at both the billionaires and G*mers is an inspiring sight 07

Oooh, you're a Havard grad who ran with McKinsey before you ran Sony. Yes, tell me more about "that's life".

Right this way to the gui , sir!

[–] VILenin@hexbear.net 7 points 2 months ago

Telling people to become gigslaves is definitely a good way to not sound greedy lol

[–] LaGG_3@hexbear.net 28 points 2 months ago (1 children)

In the most generous reading of this, it sounds like he's saying the layoffs are temporary and those effected should just do gig work to bridge the gap. This is obviously how-much-could-it-cost ass shit, because CEOs always get these super cushy severance packages.

[–] the_post_of_tom_joad@hexbear.net 15 points 2 months ago

"I presume people were paid some kind of a decent severance package and by the time that runs out…Well, you know, that's life."

I really dislike the term "corporate greed". It attributes agency and malice to an nonhuman machine doing what it's designed to do.

go off to find a cheap place to live and go to the beach for a year.

I presume people were paid some kind of a decent severance package

~~Just be an investor bro~~

Enjoy below minimum wage gig work forever bro < ————— (you are here)

Just start your own business bro

Just be born rich bro

Join the military bro

Just hurry up and starve on the streets bro

[–] anarchoilluminati@hexbear.net 9 points 2 months ago

I feel like born rich, start a business, and join the military were the first three, then we moved on to the college trap. Next step left is hurry up and starve.

[–] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 8 points 2 months ago (1 children)

~~STEM or nothing bro.~~

agony-deep not only is STEM low pay but employers are picky, cretinous bastards.

[–] DragonBallZinn@hexbear.net 7 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Oh yeah, I forgot one more step.

“Lol JK, engineering or nothing bro.” (Which also falls under the same problem as the rest of STEM. But hey, as someone who dropped out of STEM, it’s a bit of a consolation prize that I would have been fucked either way.)
