So, Leftypol supposedly had a hard drive crash, but on Getchan, the admins admitted that Moffintosh (Moffin'?) was Zankaria (board developer).

As far as I'm concerned, Leftypol was a glowtrap the entire time. (There are rumors about lemmygrad as well, but tbh, Moffin actively tried to force a pro-NATO / anti-Chinese and anti-Russian point of view with what seemed to have been NAFO.

Ultimately, I have some ideas for alternatives, but I'm not yet able to permanently cut ties with the West, so I can't implement yet.

I'll just go on record and say that I don't care about leftypol and don't want updates on their situation.

[–] bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml 10 points 2 months ago (1 children)

i have no clue what leftypol even is

[–] ComradePupIvy@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 2 months ago

same here can someone explain why I should care

Lemmygrad literally can't be an op, @MuadDib@lemmygrad.ml has been on record actually calming things down with some comments so that we don't attract too much unwanted attention. After 5 years of existence it just doesn't make any sense and sounds like projection from, as someone else said, people who were on a fed op website.

I don't even mind saying someone/something is a fed as a metaphor to say they act like a fed, but it doesn't make any sense for Lemmygrad. 5 years is a long time to wait before doing anything with this platform if anyone was gonna entrap random online communists.

Whether there are feds using lemmygrad is another thing. Nothing on the platform is encrypted or hidden away. With federation, anything you ever submit on the website is instantly beamed over to 50 different databases.

Lemmygrad literally can’t be an op,

Sounds like something someone running an op instance would say!

[–] CriticalResist8@lemmygrad.ml 5 points 2 months ago

I can neither nor deny the allegations,

So you're that Leftypol guy who showed up here two weeks ago and have said some pretty sus things and you're now trying to get people paranoid about Lemmygrad?

There's certainly something glowy about this situation, and it isn't the website.

fed

"Hello fellow comrades. I am from [obvious glowtrap site]. I have noticed that site is a glowtrap. I think you site may also be a glowtrap. Please begin to doubt everything said and start infighting more please. Thank you fellow comrades. I am also a comrade and support things like communism.”

Do you think they keep a puke bucket next to their desks when they have to say things about liking communism or bad things about capitalism? Like the cube farms there work at all smell like puke and boot leather?

[–] DamarcusArt@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Considering this guy just copped a ban for saying capitalism is better for LGBTQ rights, I think they probably just hold it all in until they can't anymore and the mask slips.

You'd think Langely would learn that their guys always do this shit sooner or later, though I guess anyone who is able to understand communist terminology and ideas well enough to pretend to be a communist is just going to become an actual communist, so it might be self-selecting process.

Lol. Average FBI intern be like...

[–] farmer_of_song@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 2 months ago

I support a common-sense level of paranoia. As long as you don't do something illegal or too threatening, you're fine.

I don't think people here are on the verge of crossing the line, whereas on Leftypol you had former posts discussing guns, as well as NAFO glowtrap posts discussing drone terrorism.

So many leftypolers were libs. I mean, who makes a thread like picrel unless they're a lib?

Then you get libs posting shit like this to try and discredit the argument that the CPC knows what they're doing far more than random western ultras.

Death to libbypol!

[–] farmer_of_song@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 2 months ago

That was literally made and supported by Moffin', who was, if you trust Zeke Roa (an admin on Getchan) a board developer on Leftypol.

The serious issue I see right now is more a push by "parts of the left" to cancel China using the "anti-campist" line.

[–] darkcalling@lemmygrad.ml 21 points 2 months ago (1 children)

There are rumors about lemmygrad as well,

Rumors from the people who were on a website that was an op? That doesn't seem credible. Anyways there's always that risk. If you live in the west and post here you shouldn't post anything that breaks the law under the assumption the admins are literally CIA agents and actively hostile. Now there's no evidence of this. Dessalines has a long history of being an ML with correct lines on the anti-imperialist struggle on reddit for years before they developed Lemmy and launched this website.

Frankly though there will always be an air of distrust given the history of infiltration and subversion in the west. However, the fact that Dessalines has not tried to ever push reactionary social thought or imperialist positions, the fact they don't instigate struggle sessions and try and split people up or cause strife and in-fighting are all strong indicators that those who run this website are likely not feds or anti-communist activists (like feds but not paid and no badge or security clearance). That doesn't mean this website isn't under surveillance.

The surest way to out glowies is they serve the interests of empire. They were usually find it acceptable to push anti-capitalist positions so long as they also can push at least some pro-empire positions. Things that appeal to liberals, things like the Hong Kong color revolution or Ukraine which they can try and approach from a faux left position of claiming Russia is imperialist. They can bend on things like Gaza where it's just not possible to do otherwise as even liberals would shame them. If someone consistently takes a correct anti-imperialist line 100% of the time and takes an anti-capitalist line 100% of the time and understands the US is the main issue and espouses this then they are working against the US 100% and the only way to be of utility as an asset in that situation is to engineer splits via struggles over some minor point that they enlarge into a raging flame-war intentionally. Such a person would not seek peace or issue a line and put the discussion off limits but attempt to keep it raging.

Can someone put me up to date, as a person who hasn't paid attention to Leftypol since 2016?

[–] SovietReporter@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 2 months ago

What is that? What is Leftypol?

[–] Cysioland@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 2 months ago

Okay, you got me, I'm an ABW agent trying to suss out whatever remained of communists in Poland

[–] big_spoon@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 2 months ago
