For the Trump v Biden Debate we have around 200 users chatting. For the Trump v Kamala Debate we had around 160 users. I'm not sure how many people will be interested in the VP debate.

I am playing it on this channel because the other channel uses peertube, which can potentially share your IP address to other users. This channel will not have peertube.

I will have news commentary playing in the channel before the debate and potentially after the debate as well.

the-democrats have to stop trying to make "politics of joy" a thing

[–] DragonBallZinn@hexbear.net 8 points 1 hour ago (2 children)

Sounds like Walz got ez clapped.

But it still pisses me off they use “joy” and not “optimism”. The former just reeks of self-infantilization.

[–] xiaohongshu@hexbear.net 3 points 27 minutes ago

There is a very specific reason why they used the words “joy” and “the strongest military in the world”.

[–] CthulhusIntern@hexbear.net 5 points 1 hour ago

He didn't. But this was pretty much a stalemate in what could've been a bloodbath if Walz actually tried to attack.

[–] Dickey_Butts@hexbear.net 26 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

JD just said he wanted to decommodify housing doubt

fuckyoufuckyoufuckyou!

[–] Sted@hexbear.net 17 points 1 hour ago (2 children)

Love how dems will just straight up lie in front of everyone and we're considered crazy for not believing them.

[–] bigbrowncommie69@hexbear.net 9 points 44 minutes ago

"Politicians are all liars"

"Yes"

"Harris, Waltz, Biden and the other Dems are all career politicians"

"Sure"

"Therefore, the Democrats are also liars"

"You're just a Russian bot who wants Trump to win"

[–] Dickey_Butts@hexbear.net 15 points 1 hour ago

Waltz said the same thing and I definitely don't believe his ass either.

I'm going to do sudoku in the battle box. whywhywhywhywhy

Tim Walz unity school shooters???

[–] RION@hexbear.net 17 points 2 hours ago

Maybe the worst gaffe to have at that moment

[–] tactical_trans_karen@hexbear.net 24 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

WALZ SAID HE'S FRIENDS WITH SCHOOL SHOOTERS!! hahaha

[–] miz@hexbear.net 12 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Ohhh hell nawwww! visible-disgust

Vance is crushing, honestly

And then: Walz with a mealy-mouthed closing; Vance with a strong, sharp message that you deserve a house and a square meal, and reminding you that Kamala hasn't given that to you. And those baby blue eyes. It's too bad he's evil.

[–] Doubledee@hexbear.net 15 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

He's got the energy of a debate kid and the education of an Ivy League shithead. He struggles to appear like a normal person, not like a smarty pants fast talker.

[–] FungiDebord@hexbear.net 12 points 1 hour ago

No wonder he's crushing at a debate then

[–] brainw0rms@hexbear.net 19 points 1 hour ago* (last edited 1 hour ago) (2 children)

Yeah I'll be honest he's doing better than I was expecting. He's managing to not let himself get pinned down defending stupid things Trump, and even he himself has previously said, and has been fairly charismatic and articulate. Walz sounds incoherent at times, and keeps bringing up terminally-political-brained stuff without giving sufficient elaboration/context, so most normal people won't even understand what he's referring to. Vance is a piece of shit for sure, but he's surprisingly good at making Trump and himself sound palatable, if you didn't know better.

[–] GoodGuyWithACat@hexbear.net 4 points 21 minutes ago

Harris and Walz need to stop bringing up Project 2025 in debates. All they have to do is say "no I don't support that, here's what I actually support". Immediate, easy deflect into a stump speech.

[–] FungiDebord@hexbear.net 19 points 1 hour ago* (last edited 1 hour ago)

if you didn't know better

Exactly. He's really deft at framing, esp. in giving the viewers a permission structure to support Trump, and giving assuring, flip responses while avoid being pinned on satanic GOP positions, which is leaving Walz blathering, trying to clarify.

"Mom, I want the Biden-Trump sons debate!"

Mom: "We have the sons debate at home"

The sons debate at home:

[–] Philosoraptor@hexbear.net 39 points 2 hours ago

I can't take this any more. They're just arguing over who can more efficiently implement a fascist vision for America. Fuck this place.

[–] FungiDebord@hexbear.net 18 points 2 hours ago

Cackling as Walz is dropping spaghetti trying to evade his fib that he embellished his Trot credibility by being at a very terrible Tienamen Square protest.

[–] happybadger@hexbear.net 46 points 3 hours ago (2 children)

Walz coming out of the gate with uncritical support for Israel's right to start World War 3. Absolute Joy Reich shit.

[–] Doubledee@hexbear.net 25 points 3 hours ago (2 children)

Yeah gonna get a lot of ammo for dealing with him after this I think. He finally has to say stuff out loud

[–] brainw0rms@hexbear.net 32 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

I laughed out loud at the insanity of that first question tbh. "Would you support a preemptive strike on Iran? You have two minutes." agony-deep

[–] Doubledee@hexbear.net 20 points 2 hours ago

Real Amerikkkan question for sure.

[–] happybadger@hexbear.net 21 points 2 hours ago

smuglord "your weird sir", I say as I support genocide.

[–] Sasuke@hexbear.net 32 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

having both candidates be able to form coherent sentences kinda takes the fun out of it huh

[–] Doubledee@hexbear.net 19 points 2 hours ago

Yeah they're being all polite and shit. I stopped listening once it was clear this would be boring.

[–] GoodGuyWithACat@hexbear.net 18 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Lmao the questions seem to be weirdly pro-Trump for CNN. There's this question about calling Walz out on a lie about going to China during Tianamen Square. Kinda just bizarre.

[–] brainw0rms@hexbear.net 16 points 2 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago)

It was funny how when he "answered" the question it sounded more like he was getting defensive about going to China at all, rather than just saying "well damn I guess I forgot the exact details of something that happened 35 years ago" even when they asked for clarification, he just kind of reiterated the original claim that he was there during the protests lol.

[–] Boredom@hexbear.net 33 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

I've finally reached the point at which I understand enough about politics to not pay attention to politics.

[–] Sasuke@hexbear.net 14 points 3 hours ago

god i wish that was me

[–] charmander@hexbear.net 22 points 2 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago)

as with the kamala-trump debate, the dems are gloating about the brutality of their border policy while the fascists accuse them of not being brutal enough. americans' blood lust is insatiable

thankfully i apparently missed the part about palestine

[–] tactical_trans_karen@hexbear.net 15 points 2 hours ago

Why can't they just cut the civility shit, I want to hear them shout insults.

[–] brainw0rms@hexbear.net 13 points 2 hours ago

Walz is cooked

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 15 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

My prediction of how it will look, coming back for a summary a few hours from now:

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 2 points 52 minutes ago

I WAS RIGHT!

[–] Sasuke@hexbear.net 13 points 3 hours ago

off to a strong start with a hitler-off on palestine (walz won't even say the word 'palestinian' lol)

[–] videogame@hexbear.net 12 points 3 hours ago

They're having a mid-off
