Under Donald Trump, Congress moved swiftly to block a president from starting a war with Iran. As Joe Biden allows the country to be dragged into such a war, criticism is nearly nonexistent.

Proof that Trump is the harm-reduction candidate.

This has been in the back of my mind and more recently at the front of my mind, that the democrats only seem to resist some of the bad things we want to stop when republicans are in charge. It's the only time I ever see them fight, and then once they get one of their own in office they just continue most of the policies they were trying to convince that they would stop if we voted for them. And Kamala seems like she'll be even worse than Biden somehow, signalling that she'll be rolling back some of the very few milquetoast progressive descisions that Biden has made.

Cmon…. Just one more little war. It’ll be fun, we’ll get all the boys together, fly some flags, drop some bombs. It’ll be grand. Really helps the economy too ya know Jack.

Y'know, it probably is ghoul-brain telling them "we can re-unify the country by going after some more brown guys; it'll be just like the good ol' days after 9/11"

I do think you’re right. The American voter loves a wartime leader. The public never forgave Biden for ending the Afghanistan war.

the US hasn't declared war via congress in what, ~~four~~ eight decades or something? isn't all this shit still being laughably justified under the AUMF

Longer than that. Not since 1941, in fact.

Biden sinking Kamala's campaign would be the funniest outcome, I think

[–] anarchoilluminati@hexbear.net 12 points 1 month ago

She did that all by herself. She never had a chance, in my opinion.

i suspect that we'll be at the initial stages of war by the time we have a clear winner of the election and they will be "forced" to carry it out.

this would have happened anyways under trump and i suspect this is why biden agreed to step back and let kamala run so that he could fall on his sword to let isreal fully dominate the middle east in the united states' behalf.
