As we reported earlier, police confirmed there were words on three shell casings found at the scene of the fatal shooting of Brian Thompson.

The BBC's US partner CBS News is now reporting that the words - "deny", "defend" and "depose" - were meticulously written, not etched, onto the casings, according to a source briefed on the investigation.

The words were Deny, Defend, and Depose. I'm absolutely sure they have nothing to do with this book.

I also had to laugh yesterday when the cops and mayor were frantically trying to reassure everyone it'd be safe to go to the tree lighting ceremony, and there wasn't a single person in the entire city who thought that guy would be after them. ... Well, okay, maybe some folks at that investor's conference ....

Wow. That's as clear a message as they get.

Yet the cops and the media are all shrugging their shoulders and claiming they have no idea what motivated the killing. Mostly because they simply don’t want to say it out loud.

It is amazing watching how the media and politicans are pretending that people are going to be scared and sad while all the regular people are rejoicing.

They sent an internal message to all 16k employees about the tragedy of his death and it got 26 comments.

[–] Infynis@midwest.social 2 points 2 weeks ago

I wonder how many of those comments were just "👍"

Imagine if they just said “Live” “Laugh” “Love”

Seeing the coverage of the "media talking heads" is so interesting. They are part shocked and part scared when they have to explain that a possible motive for this justice is that he screwed too many people of our their health coverage. That's how elite class should always feel.

UnitedHealthCare has always been the very worst one of our terrible for profit health insurance companies.

I bet they suddenly pass gun laws now

CEOs will just demand a protective detail and the cost will be passed on to consumers. There is a pretty predictable blueprint they follow - kind of the issue really.

Nah, they will just double their personal private army called police budget.

Yeah, probably

Directions:

By the way the gunman manually re-cocks his weapon after each shot, he says it appears that he “anticipated the weapon would fail to function as normal, possibly due to the use of subsonic ammunition in combination with a suppressor”.

Subsonic ammunition travels below the speed of sound, which means it is quieter as it doesn’t create a loud crack as it breaks the sound barrier.

Jenzen-Jones says it appears that the gunman deliberately chose this combination to make the shooting “as quiet as possible” suggesting a level of pre-meditation in planning the attack.

Good guy assassin didn’t use a silencer to avoid detection, just didn’t want to disturb the peace

[–] intresteph@discuss.online 8 points 3 weeks ago

It was a hotel after all. People need their rest. ;)

[–] TheLimiter@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago

He probably wouldn't have done it if they'd approved his claim for the silencer as hearing protection.

Cops investigate crimes? Was the victim white? White, and rich and male. Call the FBI.
