I didn't mind the bigotry, racism and anti-democratic scheming but this is where i draw the line.

[–] Visstix@lemmy.world 155 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah they draw the line right in front of them. And they only notice someone crossing it when it hits them in the face.

[–] RamblingPanda@lemmynsfw.com 86 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Their line is a circle around themselves.

[–] Drusas@fedia.io 25 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Some of them include their children.

"But not Fred, he's too woke. And Jenna is a lesbianist!"

[–] sundrei@lemmy.sdf.org 25 points 1 week ago (4 children)

Jenna is a lesbianist

She plays the alto lesbian in the orchestra.

I didn't expect...

Good news everyone!

I've developed a nearly foolproof method for preventing anyone else from sharing this fuckin sucker's experience, and will share it here - free of charge - today only!

It's simple. All you have to do is ask yourself a single question: Does X effect Trump’s Y?

Replace X with the issue or item you're concerned with.

Then replace Y with one of the following: health | self-image | bank account | stock market

If your answer is 'No,' congratulations, you now know that Trump will indeed NOT give a single fuck about your problem. Also, it's probably some sort of peasant issue anyway.

If your answer is 'Yes,' you're likely still fucked somehow! 😁

"We never expected that the guy who told us to fight Covid by eating horse paste and shoving UV lights up our butts wouldn't know a damn thing about science."

[–] ours@lemmy.world 66 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Give him some credit... he also suggested ingesting bleach. Technically it would have killed COVID and guaranteed the patient never got COVID or any other sickness ever again.

[–] BeardedGingerWonder@feddit.uk 24 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Just to clarify drinking bleach is probably less bad than what he actually suggested, which was injecting disinfectant.

"I just wanted a fifth columnist who would govern well according to my kaleidoscopic view of reality"

[–] iltoroargento@lemmy.sdf.org 41 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Jesus. That's exactly how some people operate. Every day. What the fuck is wrong with humanity.

[–] SlopppyEngineer@lemmy.world 30 points 1 week ago (1 children)

We're naked monkeys evolved to live in small groups trying to run a system with several billion people. Humanity is a bit underspecced.

Actually he isn't allowed to run charities anymore because he ran a "Trump fund" for sick children, and...... it all went to Trump so..

Yeah he is Anti-Curing Childhood Cancer

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.world 58 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I'm going to vote for the guy who stole from a children's cancer charity, because that's just smart business.

--Every trump voter

[–] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 30 points 1 week ago (4 children)

And then for some reason think he'll run the government like a business for their benefit instead of running it to the ground for his own benefit. After his first presidency was basically a scheme to funnel federal money into his hotels once he realized he could manufacture situations to force them to pay for rooms.

[–] frostysauce@lemmy.world 27 points 1 week ago (5 children)

Who in the fuck even convinced these mouth breathers that a government should be run like a business in the first place? Jesus fucking Christ that's the dumbest shit ever.

This is my mother. In her 80s, racist AF, conservative, voted for Trump, has cancer, on Medicare, etc. Now she expresses her worry that Medicare funding will be cut. But she's also betting that because Musk is a "genius" he won't take benefits away from the elderly.

[–] apfelwoiSchoppen@lemmy.world 34 points 1 week ago

It's even worse/dumber than this, due to her federal unionized employment pension. Unions are apparently evil, despite her pension and paying for her Medicare B late enrollment penalties. The brain rot is really maddening and sad to see in person.

"I'm shocked that the guy who only cares about himself, is doing things that only personally benefit him"

[–] pyre@lemmy.world 35 points 1 week ago

I knew he was going to hurt poor people, trans people, immigrants, US citizens born of immigrant parents, US citizens of color, women, children, and even people in need of healthcare and research. that was all fine. it was fun, actually, i made fun of them online, and tried to rub it on their face after the election as much as possible.

... but I didn't think he would also hurt this very specific portion of them which also affects me.

fuck cancer, and fuck this guy. this guy is cancer.

[–] dumples@midwest.social 35 points 1 week ago (4 children)

I hope the eventually destruction of the federal government makes people realize how much it helps them.

[–] varyingExpertise@feddit.org 35 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Nah, they'll do the same as always: Find something or someone to blame that isn't themselves or their favorite ~~sports~~ political team, continue as usual.

Isn't funding cancer research "big government"?

[–] Djehngo@lemmy.world 24 points 1 week ago

"Big government" means thinking the government is bigger and more expensive than it needs to be.

When all the government needs to do is keep me happy then any program which I understand benefits me is vital and any which doesn't is "big government"

You know what might have been a clue? The past!

  • March 2017: Proposed $5.8 billion (18%) cut to NIH funding, targeting cancer research indirectly.
  • February 2018: Proposed eliminating the John S. McCain Childhood Cancer Foundation.
  • June 2019: Revoked the Clean Power Plan, weakening air pollution controls linked to lung cancer prevention.
  • 2018: Delayed asbestos bans under the Toxic Substances Control Act, linked to cancer risks.
  • 2017-2019: Repeated attempts to repeal the ACA, threatening free cancer screenings like mammograms.
  • February 2020: Proposed $3 billion cut to NIH in the 2021 budget, while increasing defense spending.
  • July 2019: Reversed proposed bans on flavored e-cigarettes, undermining tobacco-use prevention.

If people are surprised, it's because they aren't paying attention, or they just think Trump is BASED until the ramifications show up at their doorstep.

[–] TheReturnOfPEB@reddthat.com 33 points 1 week ago (2 children)

It will be difficult to "out villain" this administration in most people's imagination.

At least she voted.

Yeah, you know who I'm talking about. Where y'all at now? Fucking crickets.

[–] queermunist@lemmy.ml 103 points 1 week ago (20 children)

No, actually, people who voted for Trump are worse than people who stayed home.

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 34 points 1 week ago (7 children)

Until the Democratic Party stops excluding the Bernies of the world, elections like these are what we're going to get. No one believes Democrats will actually do what they say they're going to do, not even their own voters.

elon is the kind of dipshit who probably holds the belief that the commoners' cancer can be compensated with a higher birth rate. People are just a resource to him.
