Things I'll be sending up:

printed small FALGSC flag

hexbear logo, possibly physical

mack the knife poem by Bertolt Brecht

images: Belly_Beanis's spacebeanis, AstroStelar's "Someday I'll Go To Space", and Deinonychus's curry-space emoji, incremental_anarchist's photo of Gerard way and an image of David Bowie/Wheatley

usernames: oscardejarjayes, cosecantphi, isame, Coolkidbozzy, MikeyChaz, WellTheresYourCobbler

Link to Pitbull - Give Me Everything ft. Ne-Yo, Afrojack, Nayer

If anyone else has something they want me to send up, reply with it.

The launch got pushed back a little, so I've got a fair amount of time to add what you want (the "real" payloads basically done already). Launches are basically never on time, lol.

If anyone wants proof, I'm perfectly willing to DM some Blue Origin stuff that shouldn't be public (it probably shouldn't dox me). I'll be responsive for the next day or two, then probably again in a few weeks.

Please send Jeff Bezos to space again. Last time they fucked up and had to bring him back to Earth.

I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:

How did you end up getting the payload in the first place, if I may ask?

[–] spaceman@hexbear.net 4 points 3 months ago

Anyone can just pay Blue Origin (or SpaceX or whoever) for space on their rockets. I didn't pay for it personally, of course, but when the stuff that payload was bought for was built, there was spare mass, volume, and time, so I got pretty broad discretion to do whatever I want, provided it's all within the guidelines and outside of the 9-5.

tl;dr: engineer at cool place

I don’t suggest doing this. It’s not like we’d even be able to confirm whether it’s legit or not.

[–] spaceman@hexbear.net 3 points 3 months ago

I mean, I think you'd be able to verify. It'd be a photo similar to one on the Blue Origin website, but at a different angle (an angle that doesn't exist in any other public photo). And, as a bonus, there shouldn't be any way to tie it to the real me (long story, but trust).

Somebody mentioned this last time, and I meant to include it, I guess it slipped my mind. Thanks for reminding me!

Perhaps an image of David Bowie or Wheatley? Also this photo of Gerard way: https://x.com/tomorrowimight/status/1654609865183035392

[–] spaceman@hexbear.net 1 points 3 months ago

Wheatley and Gerard will be going up, thanks for the suggestion!

Maybe some dried petals of a local flower? I know you suggested no organic matter but isn't it very similar to just paper?

A really cool thing would be a tiny mineral collection, imagine sand-speck-sized samples of different minerals.

ROM of Super Mario Bros for NES?

Not asking for all of that, just I think it's really cool and I'm suggesting a few things and seeing if you like anything

Maybe some dried petals of a local flower?

Organics by themselves aren't a deal breaker, and dried petals could work well. One of the main concerns (but not the only) is that an animal ends up in the experiment, and therefore the rocket, because that's a big no-no. Petals are thin, and difficult to hide in. I'll put that on the list of things to maybe send up.

tiny mineral collection

Seems cool in principle, but I'd fear that vibration + tiny rocks could wreck havoc. Maybe if I epoxy the rocks in place? But even then.

ROM of Super Mario Bros for NES

No can do

I'm suggesting a few things and seeing if you like anything

You can keep 'em coming, I'll probably only start winding down the additions in like mid-June (or maybe July?).

~~You have to send a cutout of curry-space so that man can finally escape the one place that hasn't been tainted by capitalism!~~

Sorry I got ahead of myself! SPAAAAAAAAACE!

[–] spaceman@hexbear.net 2 points 3 months ago

He's definitely going up, I'll see if I can make a little printout

[–] MineDayOff@hexbear.net 2 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Amethyst, and weed with picture instructions on how to use it.

[–] spaceman@hexbear.net 1 points 3 months ago

I think putting drugs in it would be, sadly, a poor idea. Organic material on it's own tends to be a little problematic, though manageable.

I could include instructions on how to do some particular drugs, if you want.
