Wrong building. The right building is marked with an X.

Target may need to rethink their brand name.

[–] meliaesc@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

Or not. Fuck Target too.

[–] Gorilladrums@lemmy.world 13 points 6 days ago (3 children)

The real joke here is expecting the Iranian theocracy to be competent at anything, literally anything.

[–] general_kitten@sopuli.xyz 9 points 6 days ago (2 children)

my under standing says the iranian theocracy is on par whatever rules the united states right now

[–] Gorilladrums@lemmy.world 4 points 5 days ago (3 children)

Trump and MAGA are definitely mind numbingly incompetent, stupid, and corrupt, but I feel like they're a magnitude better than the mullahs. It sounds crazy to say, but it's true.

Iran is a BIG country with over 85 million people. It should be similar to Turkey or Germany in terms of political, cultural, and economic power but it's not. The reason? The regime decided to invest tens of billions of dollars since the 1980s to fund proxy groups across the middle east to destabilize the region, make enemies out of everyone, and enforce oppressive "morality" codes at home in accordance with islamic sharia law. This type shortsightedness is really hard to match.

[–] rapchee@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago (1 children)

wow i wonder how iran turned out to be such an awful country .... oops i dropped something, it's probably not important https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1953_Iranian_coup_d%27%C3%A9tat?wprov=sfla1

[–] Gorilladrums@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Nobody is denying this coup negatively affected the country. That still doesn't absolve the current regime from criticism or responsibility.

It's not designed for imperialism, it's designed for internal repression.

[–] Gorilladrums@lemmy.world 7 points 6 days ago

Iran's imperialism is both internal and external. Around half of the country in terms of both land and people are ethnic minorities who want independence. This includes Kurdistan, Baluchistan, Iranian Azerbaijan, and the Arabs in Khuzestan all have major separatist movements. So on top of funding, arming, and supporting terrorist proxy groups all over the middle east, they're also occupying these nations by force kind of like what China is doing with Tibet or Russia with Chechnya.

Of course, they're also oppressing the Persian majority as well, but these people see Iran as their country similar to how Russians see Russia as theirs even though they're against the regime.

No worse than the american theocracy.

Im not saying there's anyone in this thread who couldn't do better. Just that neither side if this conflict is playing with a full deck, cognitively.

Have you... been on LinkedIn?

[–] Placebonickname@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

I don’t find it useful, but every now and then I see an interesting article posted. I will say that LinkedIn premium for people who run small businesses is absurdly expensive

[–] zqwzzle@lemmy.ca 30 points 6 days ago (1 children)

It’s become a site for middle management wankery.

[–] rodneyck@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 6 days ago

Exactly, the professional managerial class' cum sock.

The fact that it hasnt been nuked yet

[–] stebo02@sopuli.xyz 14 points 6 days ago (1 children)

>same question I had
>oh LORD the downvotes
Good thing I showed up second :3

I dunno, LinkedIn is corporatey? Facebook-ish? Anyway I guess we want someone to bomb it lol

[–] Placebonickname@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Yeah, if you don’t like LinkedIn I just wouldn’t use it, no one is forcing us to use it. But I guess I’ll take the downvotes cause I’m not smart enough to think like everyone else. :)

[–] 10001110101@lemm.ee 1 points 4 days ago

I've filled out many job applications that require you to paste a link to your LinkedIn profile.

[–] expatriado@lemmy.world 13 points 6 days ago (2 children)

if toxic positivity is your thing....

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 10 points 6 days ago

Or just toxic corporate entitlement.

[–] Deathray5@lemmynsfw.com 2 points 6 days ago

TBF most people (myself including) try to avoid posts. Perhaps even more successfully.

Mostly the people who use it for anything other than job searches.

[–] Valmond@lemmy.world 1 points 5 days ago

Okey for finding work, but they are slowly transforming it into some CEO facebook fake show off contest (I just check messages and jobs, the test is justvawful).

[–] Shardikprime@lemmy.world -5 points 4 days ago

Yup, inciting domestic terrorism

Good job guys, well done
