Many there are. Moonloop (unedited version) by Porcupine Tree you need. Listen you must. Deep spaces, imaging and separation will you find.
Lowrider -Ode to Ganymede on Vinyl cause it's fun to break speakers in like a proper lady.
Unless it is faster to use Bandcamp.
Depends on the day and mood, but Firestarter by The Prodigy is a good speaker stress tester.
Angel - massive attack.
Tests both the low end and the high end frequencies really well, plus it's an incredible track and well produced
First time I DJd, I cleared the floor because I really wanted to hear Angel on big, club speakers.
No ragerts.
Genesis by justice for the bass and delight by jamie berry to test how they fare with cymbals and trumpets (i found that if a speaker has problems with the band pass filters/ channel separation it sounds awful).
Plus they sound awesome for their respective genres.
Cymbals and trumpets are always really telling about the quality of a recording.
Probably The Very Best of Joรฃo Gilberto, or something like that. Something old enough to have used analog equipment and have actual stereo from separate mics instead of just panning on the mixing board.
But the FLAC version I have, obviously.
That album is a masterpiece, as far as I'm concerned. I will never tire of it, and it really gives my speakers a workout.
Big fan of 65daysofstatic ever since No Man's Sky
The Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald by Gordon Lightfoot.
Nah, Iโm just kidding. For real, Come Into Me by The Mavericks.
Bohemian Rhapsody. Every time.
Austin Wintory - Apotheosis (but the flac version).
Just such a gorgeous piece that spans the whole spectral range and has a wide dynamic range. Really intricate details from all the instruments involved too.
Its a beautiful way to experience a new set of speakers and also to dial in the balance on the EQ.
Immediately followed by the Nurture album by Porter Robinson
Tiptoe Through the Tulips.
Lindsey Stirling โ Crystallize.
Tells me if I set up bass and upper frequencies correctly.
Take Flight is my goto from her. Yes, because of the Terraria mod.
S&M, metallica
i set up lidarr + streamrip with a script that gets albums missing from lidarr, and then tells streamrip to download them from tidal
so if i were to delete myusic collection, it would download 2WEI - Emergence first, as that is currently the most recent album of the alphabeitally first artist i track
but answering what you actually mean, it'd be Machine Head - Of Kingdom and Crown
Always The Damned - Damned Damned Damned volume set to 11...
Prodigy - Light Up The Sky. Or anything else by then really.
Super Furry Animals - Love Kraft: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0TLxJyY7-w&list=PLIB8rikvk8oiSfMll59UvVNs2SWDhxvHG
It's a really dynamic neopsychedelia album which has good highs/lows/mixing. With surround sound the violin is intense.
I always test my new audio gear with "Cherish the Day" by Sade.
Crown Royal - Jill Scott.
