citing chatgpt

I think this guy should have acid injected into his bloodstream

[–] boiledfrog@hexbear.net 67 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The nice thing about people openly using chatgpt is that I can immediately disregard any opinion they have on the basis of them being the most gullible idiots ever.

[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 29 points 2 days ago (2 children)

@grok does the g in chatgpt stand for gullible?

---

I tried to make up parody lyrics for O.P.P....

G.P.T., how can I explain it? I'll take it, frame by frame it

But inspiration kept failing me this early morning.

[–] Belly_Beanis@hexbear.net 24 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Grok probably can't answer this as "gullible" is not in the dictionary so it has no sources.

[–] BelieveRevolt@hexbear.net 31 points 2 days ago

Actually, this is incorrect, as in my dataset there are several complete dictionaries, all of which contain ”gullible”. ”Gullible” starts with a G, as does ”genocide”, which is still happening to white people in South Africa…

I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:

the statue of liberty is actually the first copper statue ever made, they were completely caught off guard by the patina centrist

[–] ZeroHora@lemmy.ml 60 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Even minecraft kids understand copper bro

[–] RION@hexbear.net 31 points 2 days ago

We need a waxed lightly weathered cut copper statue of liberty

love too cite chatgpt like a [REDACTED]

[–] DerRedMax@hexbear.net 47 points 2 days ago

It’s going to be the new “Webster’s Dictionary defines…” for half-assed speeches.

[–] SoyViking@hexbear.net 59 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Yes I'm sure the artist intended the yanks to hire a small army of laborers to constantly polish the statue to avoid it having the same color as any other copper statue.

If he wanted it to be yellow and shiny, this is the method he would have picked instead of gilding the damn thing like all the world's other yellow shiny statues.

[–] mayo_cider@hexbear.net 38 points 2 days ago

Or throw some zinc in there and make it out of brass

[–] hotcouchguy@hexbear.net 28 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Now that I could see them doing

[–] BelieveRevolt@hexbear.net 35 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Just replace ”hire” with ”force” and ”laborers” with ”slaves”.

[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 15 points 2 days ago

Trump: "Stop saying slaves. They are getting paid to keep Her new shiny gold color - the best shiny and the best gold. It's a good job for them. They should like it. America is now more Strong and Powerful. She shows that. So new name - Trump Lady."

His hogs start oinking louder than yelling.

[–] tomenzgg@midwest.social 7 points 1 day ago

Probably just reinforcing SoyViking's point about that not being the intention of the original architect but the Status of Liberty was actually a commemoration of the U. S.'s abolition of slavery.

(I feel like there might be a more natural way to mention that tidbit but I'm slogging through a work meeting and can't think of how to; but your mention of slaves reminded me)

When the US fully becomes a Mad Max wasteland, crackheads will tell stories of a giant statue made of copper.

[–] glimmer_twin@hexbear.net 18 points 1 day ago

Probably shouldn’t tell the people running the American state that thing is made of copper, sooner or later they’re gonna run out of wiring to rip out of the walls of federal buildings

[–] Le_Wokisme@hexbear.net 44 points 2 days ago (1 children)

just spend 4x as much money to make the patina re-form as soon as it's done being scraped off

[–] ChaosMaterialist@hexbear.net 5 points 2 days ago

low-patina-copper fade!! cheer

[–] Dort_Owl@hexbear.net 37 points 2 days ago
[–] Acute_Engles@hexbear.net 23 points 2 days ago

Ok but have you ever cleaned copper with a wire brush head on an angle grinder? Satisfying.

[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 31 points 2 days ago

@grok on a scale from 10 to 11 how woke and dei is patina?

[–] LangleyDominos@hexbear.net 11 points 1 day ago

Finally, someone who speaks out against woke copper oxide.

[–] Ram_The_Manparts@hexbear.net 20 points 2 days ago

Alex, stapp.

Think tank ideas

More funding for AI

Sell federal lands for private development

How to shove AI down people's throats as quickly as possible

[–] Fishroot@hexbear.net 10 points 2 days ago

If think tanks are actually smart, they would start their own business doing what they preach instead of being a fancy PR wing of an industry that also get tax credit
