the Ds voted for knowing full well it wasnt going to get released, and reps blocked it. the sudden change from both parties being silent on the issue, is extremely suspect. they made a deal behind the scenes knowing it will be blocked regardless as performative action.

[–] webadict@lemmy.world 4 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

Why did they do that? That is a really dumb strategy. The Republicans should've voted to release it so the Democrats would've had to vote to block it. Now the Republicans look like child molesters.

[–] MML@sh.itjust.works 5 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

Here's the thing, they're actually fine with that

[–] turtlesareneat@discuss.online 1 points 10 hours ago

[–] Blackmist@feddit.uk 22 points 1 day ago

People this low in the pecking order don't get invites to Paedo Island.

Might be worth looking at who donates to them though...

[–] ExLisper@lemmy.curiana.net 26 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Reminder that Virginia Giuffre (Virginia Roberts in this document) died earlier this year, in an apparent suicide.

Which is presumably convenient for somebody.

[–] BarneyPiccolo 2 points 10 hours ago

She died, but not from suicide.

[–] pachrist@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Eh, Prince Andrew isn't sweating it.

In the upcoming mid-term election, EVERY Democrat should be making this vote a primary part of their campaign marketing. Tie that vote to every MAGA Nazi, and don't let go. These people are pro-Epstein, and pro-Child Sexual Abuse.

If the Dems is an incumbent, running against a MAGA who wasn't in office, blame them for the vote anyway. Declare that they are just another vicious MAGA Nazi, and would have voted for this, and every other MAGA vote that HitlerPig demanded. They may not have been in office but they would vote 100% MAGA.

Make them wear it through the whole campaign.

[–] FlyingCircus@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

It's cute you think we're still going to have midterms.

/s maybe?

[–] BarneyPiccolo 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I have my doubts, too, but until they decide to go full on dictatorship, I'm going to keep assuming it's business as usual.

If they cancel elections, though, that's a bright red line that they are crossing. At that point, America no longer exists, and I am under no obligation to follow its laws or pay taxes.

[–] Donjamos@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Who's talking about canceling them, the ice just got a big pile of money, my bet is on ice agents with rifles standing next to each voting booth. To make sure it's a fair and secure election of course, with all those illegals and woke leftists making trouble, better be safe.

Not to forget about those voting machines his team already has access to since the last election.

Maybe arrest some promising opponents beforehand like erdogan usually does.

Those are gonna be the best and most free elections anyone ever had.

[–] BarneyPiccolo 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Nobody is talking about it on the MAGA side, but that's because it is too early. If they were to make the announcement now, that leaves more than a year for people to get angry, and the courts to weigh in, stop their ban.

Instead, they'll wait until late next summer. They will stoke the protests between now and then, forcing them to be more and more violent. Eventually they will engineer a major violent incident, and sometimes around early to mid-October 2026, he will announce that the 2026 Mid-terms are being postponed "until peace can be restored." Since he controls the peace, and what defines it, that will never happen.

Even so, many will believe him, and think that when those evil liberal protesters start to behave, we can get our elections back. But when he suspends the 2028 Presidential election, people will finally understand that there will never be another election as long as he is alive.

Good. name and shame them!

[–] john_lemmy@slrpnk.net 40 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Hackers, do us a solid and release this shit. It's impossible that it isn't on one of these muppets' downloads folder or some shit considering the type of infosec these people follow.

Yeah, this seems like a prime target for Anonymous. Would be interesting to see big news outlets struggling between chasing a huge story and not wanting to cover something that outs their bosses (since there's probably lots of them on there too).

[–] bampop@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

There's no way Pam Bondi doesn't have a personal copy. It's the only thing that would keep her from being thrown under the bus right now.

[–] Showroom7561@lemmy.ca 15 points 1 day ago

Republicans are worse than the Catholic Church.

[–] Hatshepsut@lemmy.world 67 points 2 days ago (4 children)

So we can all assume that every single person that voted against it was actually a client, right? Do their voters know they're voting for Epstein's clients?

[–] Tollana1234567 30 points 1 day ago (2 children)

So a bunch of pedos and people who are okay with pedos.

Dems need to run with this. Point it out to the MAGAt moron brigade and keep the fire lit. Those twits have the attention span of a gnat but maybe if you keep jingling the keys long enough, something might seep in...?

Dems need to run with this.

Lol just wait until dinos like Fetterman castigate their fellow democrats for daring to emphasize it. During the election Fetterman ripped on democrats for harping on trump's felony convictions, saying we were supposed to be the party of "forgiveness and redemption". Imagine supporting "forgiveness and redemption" for people involved in child sex slavery.

[–] smayonak@lemmy.world 38 points 2 days ago

Trump himself tweeted (or "truthed" which is more 1984 than anything ive heard recently) that Obama and Clinton made the list up to attack him. This guy just admitted to being on the list.

[–] crankyrebel@lemmy.dbzer0.com 97 points 2 days ago

Who?

And forgive my European ignorance, but don't they have alternates in such cases?

Otherwise it would be really easy to replace the entire government using only a Smith and Wesson or a combine harvester or similar or all together.

[–] Lyrl@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 day ago

https://clerk.house.gov/Members/ViewVacancies

Gerald Connolly and Raúl M. Grijalva, apparently. Both were Democrats. No, there are no alternates. Each State determines its own process for filling vacancies: often the governor appoints someone but special elections are also common.

Republicans would rather protect rich people who rape kids than working people. The GOP is beyond redemption and there is no sanity or humanity left in it. Everyone needs to stop acting like there is any way back to normalcy that includes them as part of it.
