Was gonna head out tonight for some DnB action but that wouldn't be wise w/ everything going on. Bees dick away from taking ol' girl to emergency yesterday and seeing flu/rona current stats not risking it as it'd be the nail in the proverbial for her and that's the last thing anyone needs.

So limited to outside dopamine things I think for now which is no biggy.

But, still need a rave choon

I am so, so fucking glad I got off suboxone.

Music is just incredible without it.

Also this is now canon

I'm super happy for you.

But I'm a little worried about the cats. Are they inside the pedal? What if they get squashed?

Today was a beaut of a day after all that incessant cloud and gloom. Really motivating me to gtfo from my unit because even when there is sun I hardly see any of it in my living room. So it was good that I was out all day today, took some lunch to a lovely low key event then went to my aunts to fuss over removing silicone residue from the bathtub for hours, super zen. It is so good to be working with my hands and helping someone else. I'm going to plan to do that as much as possible at my aunt's in WA. Need to break the screen addtction...

[–] imoldgreeeg@aussie.zone 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Sounds lovely. Did you come to a decision about what to do with your stuff while you are away?

[–] just_kitten@aussie.zone 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Yeah, I've decided I'll keep my current rental for now and treat it like glorified storage I can live in and don't need to pack everything to fit into. As cathartic as it would've been to leave Vic free from the past in some ways, I think I would've been putting too much stress on myself to pack everything, find storage, movers, rehome my indoor plants, then come back and crash at a friend's place until I find another place, move again... I need to cut myself some slack.

I'll try other ways of motivating myself to move somewhere better for my psyche rather than falling into a rut when I get back

Logged in 730, smashed out all my main tasks by 930.

Got a couple of meetings but nothing too bad.

Fingers crossed for a good day.

Today has been a lovely day. Sun is shining. It isn't freezing.

It started out with a bit of web surfing when I woke up which is a habit I want to break out of. But then I think I renewed myself by making some rice and bean concoction, practised some music, took dog for a run (he makes me run faster), chatted to my aunt, and sat in the sun. Now I'm going to play some Stardew and then do an evening shift.

Cheers!

Listened to some boss battle music from Expedition 33 while on my drive this morning, felt like an appropriate way to steel myself for Friday.

[–] PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 9 points 1 month ago

I still listen to some Tekken 3 tracks lol, still hypes me up after all these years.

Goodnight all ✌🏼 I've cooked a basic satisfactory dinner and now I can't be arsed doing anything. I've ticked my boxes and now I'm buggering off to bed.

What song brings up a specific memory for you?

Earthquake by Labrinth just played on the radio and I always immediately picture the floor of a retail store I worked out when I first moved to Melbourne because I would be left just about alone to close the store at 9pm and would end up blasting the store CD to get through.

Delta Goodrem Innocent Eyes always makes me picture the loading screen for Rollercoaster Tycoon 2.

I can't listen to Smashing pumpkins or Eskimo Joe due to a horrid cheating Ex

Second that πŸ–

[–] SituationCake@aussie.zone 7 points 1 month ago (2 children)

I tried to make dal. The combination of yellow lentils and brown spices resulted in a very unappetising colour. Taste was good by appearance was very not. Ate a bit, but ended up making a toasted sandwich instead. Also, today the hem of my jeans came undone and then later, I noticed a black scuff on my car after coming home from supermarket. One of those days filled with irritating inconveniences. Gonna park myself on the couch and watch tv.

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 7 points 1 month ago

The trick to making dal is to toast the spices properly. Onion, garlic, spices. Keep mixing until aromatic. Then add lentils until coated. Add liquid. Boil. Simmer until soft.

Mushrooms at 7kg at Coles.

Erin Patterson effect?

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 10 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Somebody on Rate my plate posted a 'trial run Wellington for the in-laws visit next week'

[–] Duenan@aussie.zone 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

How did it end up rating?

I made an egg, bacon and sautΓ©ed mushrooms inside Turkish bread.

It definitely would have rated!

Walking through parks and reserves I notice so many edible mushrooms growing. None have picked.

I think it is EP effect

Almost overslept. Can't even remember if I woke up before my alarm then turned it off, fell back asleep. Or if I never set alarm. Bit of a rushed morning but I shouldn't be late to work

I’ve stopped off to a coffee. It was going to be a choice of mushrooms or coffee but I’ve done both.

I played Donkey Kong Bananza last night and regardless of my choice of both game and platform which is totally my choice and how I keep happy and enjoy myself and frankly it doesn’t hurt to be happy for other people.

It was just good old fun smashing everything to pieces and almost feeling invincible.

[–] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Hell YES to this. You do you, you enjoy what you want! I'm glad you're enjoying it!

I picked up Mario Odyssey for my Switch last night and could have played it all night tbh.

I saw a foldable Pilates machine on eBay… that would be awesome but 1. that’s a great way to get involuntarily folded into a metal death trap and 2. would I actually use it. Because fatigue is kicking my arse

Maybe I’ll think about it after I’ve sold some of my stuff and cleared out some storage space

Edit: Also worth considering if it’s a real product for such a low price (ie does the picture reflect accurately what you get, or could it even be a scam)

Yeah nah

[–] imoldgreeeg@aussie.zone 7 points 1 month ago

My immediate thought was to that I would end up folded in a mental death trap!

[–] PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 5 points 1 month ago

I saw a treadmill for a good price this morning and there was much πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”but then I thought, "Go for a real walk! Get fit and save money!" I'll probably do neither πŸ˜†
