I would've liked him too, but he really didn't do a great job during his turn. Tbf though, that all took place over the course of two days so if they didn't nail it right away they were kinda screwed. I'd like to see him get another shot at it.

Besides all of her negative qualities as a person she was also a really bad host. Persnickety and clearly hadn't bothered to read up on the answers because she'd clearly wait for the producers to tell her whether an answer was wrong. No charisma with the players. Idk what they were thinking

Idk what they were thinking

I feel it was a mix of credentialism and brand recognition. "She has a PhD in science and plays a nerdy person on a popular sitcom, she's perfect for this nerdy show". While Alex Trebek was just a fun guy to watch.

I actually wrote them a letter back during all that and mentioned that. I got a response from Sony that they take feedback very seriously.

[–] YourMom@hexbear.net 2 points 3 weeks ago

Yeah she also came out against vaccines in her book shes shit.

How do you even consider going with someone other than Ken? Arguably GOAT that is at least the most important player of all time while being a pretty damn good host.

Thanks, Ken.

Once Trebek was gone I gave up, but I tried out for Jeopardy as often as possible. There's an online multiple choice quiz for qualifying and then a random selection amongst that pool for the next round. Qualified most times, never got past random selection for the next round tho. Its probably because they feared my sheer power. No one would remember the name Ken Jennings, I would wield so much power with my victories that id insist my winnings come from him.

Who gives a shit what the host of a gameshow has to say about a person who hasn't said they were running? And if he does say he's going to run, this statement from Ken still doesn't matter.

This is infotainment at best.

[–] BurgerPunk@hexbear.net 24 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

At least for once a USian gameshow host is voicing a good opinion picard-annoyed

[–] dissentiate@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 3 weeks ago

Agreed. It is a good opinion.

The US currently has a gameshow host president, so best tread carefully around Ken or you'll make his list.

[–] ElChapoDeChapo@hexbear.net 15 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

hasn't said they were running

Have you never seen a US presidential election before? They always do this shit and the frontrunner who hasn't announced their run yet but everyone know is gonna run has to be my least favorite trope so I'm just glad someone is actually dunking on one of those clowns for once instead of the entire media apparatus licking their own eyeballs like lizards in anticipation of Hillary announcing she's gonna run

[–] dissentiate@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 3 weeks ago

Yes, I have seen an election before. I'm turning 50 next year. I've seen this dog and pony show long enough to know that what passes as "news" in this self absorbed media landscape. This guy's opinion will vanish by the next news cycle.

[–] NeelixBiederman@hexbear.net 10 points 3 weeks ago

If history has taught us anything, it's that game show host is the new secretary of state when it comes to the presidential pipeline. I for one am happy to join the Jennings Vanguard

[–] Le_Wokisme@hexbear.net 4 points 3 weeks ago

infotainment is informative content trying badly to be entertaining, this is just celebrity gossip
