Seems like a trend among Microsoft-owned studios. Like last year when they decided to close Tango Gameworks shortly after they made Hi-Fi Rush... Which was another game they released with very little marketing or pre-release hype and still managed to be successful in spite of that.
It's almost like Microsoft WANTS their studios to fail.
Why do people act like this is an issue with Microsoft studios and not with every single major game studio out there? They all do it
Microsoft is brought up likely because of the attitude of the CEO.
He is gone cray-cray on LLMs and is likely acting out and firing people just like that:

No, what's not financially viable is paying execs millions while laying off the people actually making the success.
Of course it's financially viable. That's why they're doing it, and they'll keep doing it until we force them to stop. But they know we won't do anything about it besides complain toothlessly on the internet.
It's great and I would play the shit out of FO3 and NV if they gave them the same treatment
