I hope they go first

Just another silly distraction from the fact that they create most of the problems here on earth, and they don't want you to turn on them because of it.

Eat the rich.

And while his predictions are bold, AI’s rapid development is increasing the speed of innovation and will help solve some of society’s biggest problems, including, he implies, how to sustain life in space.

i hate these people so much

Just remember to add some non-toxic glue to your pizza sauce so the cheese doesn't float away, and eat a couple of small rocks a day to help weigh yourself down.

Ah yes. Let’s go where the greediest people on earth will literally control who gets to breathe and who doesn’t and ration every drop of water and food to their fancy. What could possibly go wrong?

Yes and Tesla cars will finally have full self driving for real and the US will fix its healthcare system, this definitely isn’t more carrot and stick bullshit from the oligarch class to placate you into complacency and passivity by waiting for improvements that are clearly never coming unless you take them

Living at an orbital Amazon fulfillment centre breathing Amazon air and drinking Amazon water and eating Amazon protein paste sure sounds like a nice carrot. A corporate space station is a corporate town where you pay for the air.

Oh yeah? We're gonna be working in space? Mining asteroids and exoplanets for multiplanetary megacorps? Yeah?

Fucking prove it then.

Just because some Techbro CEO has a wet dream about it doesn't mean it'll happen. They're talking a lot of shit for their $0 in space tech investment.

The Expanse but without the unfortunately named Epstine drive and corpos/billion(or trillion)aires instead of global governments.

Beltalowda's rise!

faaaaaaacts

You load 16 tons*

*please note: on asteroid 786-gamma 16 tons is many times what it would be on Earth, due to the low gravity.

Blade Runner was prophetic

Probably more like Mickey 17

Oh? Are they going to pay for the health care we'll need to stay healthy in zero gravity? Pay to haul all that food and oxygen up there?

[–] dumbass@leminal.space 6 points 2 days ago

Just stand in this air lock and we will deliver your Free health care.

Hardspace: Shipbreaker

It’s a delightful game where you slice and dice starships up for salvage. The plot is entertaining, if fairly straightforward, but I also find it delightfully therapeutic to go into untimed sandbox mode and get as close to 100% resource recovery as possible, because my brain enjoys that sort of thing lol

Mechanics:

  • Zero-g 6DOF
  • plasma torch
  • plasma line projector
  • grappler
  • detonation charges
  • carefully (or carelessly, you do you) rip hazardous and often explosive and/or highly-charged components out starships for fun and profit (or to watch the pretty explosions as the reactor takes out a quarter of the hull mass a shatters another quarter of it into little bits)

Bah. We all technically already work in space. Where do you think Earth is? Space!
