considering the german state fell over and was resounded after WWII I dont think hitler counts, but I chuckled

[–] Ho_Chi_Chungus@hexbear.net 4 points 11 months ago (1 children)

does naming one current and one from 150 years ago count? i can name Merkel and Bismarck

[–] EmmaGoldman@hexbear.net 3 points 11 months ago

Only counts if it's a continuous nation structure. German Empire and FRG don't really count as the same

Yes AND active in their careers

I'm a stickler

[–] MF_COOM@hexbear.net 5 points 11 months ago

active in their careers

Hm that's a little complex do you mean actively serving in government?

[–] the_itsb@hexbear.net 3 points 11 months ago

Can this be the comment under which all of us ignoramuses gather? I can't name 2 from anywhere outside my own country. Where's my (h/b/thimbo) crew at?

We promise to continue to bask in the light of all of you who can answer this question at all, let alone those of you answering with 10+ countries' politicians. Your knowledge of what is actually happening in the world is fucking impressive, you are cool as fuck, and we will strive to be as awesome as you someday.

US: Biden, Pelosi (Trump isn't in any political office right now)

UK: Starmer, Sunak

France: Macron, Marine Le Pen (her dad doesn't count anymore)

Netherlands: Mark Rutte, Geert Wilders

Sweden: Jimmie Åkesson hitler-detector, Magdalena Andersson

Finland: Many more than two

Russia: Putin, Zyuganov

Ukraine: Zelensky, Vitali Klitschko

Germany: Olaf Scholz, Frank-Walter Steinmeier

Japan: Fumio Kishida, Sakon Yamamoto (former F1 driver who became a politician, I had to come up with someone because the-doohickey no longer counted)

China: xi-pog, Li Qiang

So many where I can name the president/prime minister and nobody else, lmao.

if you mean currently living politicians, then probably only USA, UK, Brazil, and Russia. If dead ones count then China, Chile, Germany, and Italy

edit: almost was gonna say France but the nazi lady's name escapes me at the moment lol

[–] MF_COOM@hexbear.net 2 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

Canada, US, UK, France, Brazil, China, Israel, Iran, Russia, Egypt - maybe that's it if the politicians have to be

Edit oh year Ukraine too

[–] notthenameiwant@hexbear.net 2 points 11 months ago

If we're going by "currently active in a political role", then 10. Mexico is not among them, somehow.

[–] Dessa@hexbear.net 1 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

US : Many
UK: Jeremy Corbyn, Boris Johnson
Ukraine: Zelensky, Zaluzhny
France: Melenchon, Macron, Le Pen
