Enterprise definitely had the most boring, but also the only practical uniform. It’s the one uniform that I’d consider actually wearing.
I imagine the actors liked it as well. Don’t think I’ve ever heard of any costume related complaints on that series…
I like the Enterprise uniform. It does exactly what's it's meant to do. It's incredibly evocative of the 'new frontier' vibe of modern day astronaut ware and really plays in to Enterprises whole 'submarine in space' aesthetic. I totally understand why it's not as liked, as it's maybe too close to modern for some, but as Enterprise is that bridge between now and then, it works for me.
I doubt all of Blalock's getups were comfortable.
It’s definitely one of Trek’s more… problematic habits in the older series: let’s put an attractive woman in something sexy rather than an actual uniform. Marina Sirtis, Jolene Blalock, Jeri Ryan; and every woman who’s ever been on TOS. God only knows how Terri Farrell managed to dodge a skimpy outfit as her duty uniform. I assume a really good agent.
Now don’t get me wrong. As a guy I like those looks. But I do recognise it can be a problematic thing in terms of how you should treat actors.
TOS actually has an excuse with '60s feminist culture. Miniskirts were seen as liberating and feminist after the longer dresses of the '50s. They were even suggested for the uniform by Grace Lee Whitney, who played Janice Rand. Though, considering Roddenberry, that they were skimpy is probably why he went along with it. He would routinely redesign costumes for guest actresses to be skimpier.
Farrell didn't entirely get away from it. Berman insisted she stuff her bra for the role (apparently she wasn't busty enough for his tastes).
You also forgot to list Nana Visitor's second uniform for Kira. She was the only Bajoran officer to get a uniform update when the Starfleet crew got their First Contact uniforms, and it inexplicably added high heels and a dip just above her cleavage.
Fair enough regarding TOS; it was kind of the time for miniskirts.
I didn’t know that re: Farrell. Still, she’s certainly attractive enough without needing enhancements in that area. Seems silly to think that anyone actually watching the show would care about it.
And you’re right, whenever I’m thinking of Kira, I’m always thinking of her more modest uniform. Which was still too form fitting for what I imagine the character would prefer.

I really really love the Enterprise costumes. They communicate the early stage of human space travel so well, by being so close to NASA's gear. In comparison to the 80ies/90ies Series they also look so down to earth and vintage.
What did she have to do? I bet it's really complicated, like put together an Ikea dresser.

I had to jump back and rewatch a s7 episode, becuase there were two-piece uniforms this late in the show. And I didn't realise that the (leading) women are still weraing one-piece. They really did them dirty, whilst Picard is reliving his rebel phase with that shirt & bomberjacket combo.

I'm pretty sure I've seen them pull tricorders out of pockets before on either TNG, DS9, or VOY.

TNG uniforms do have pockets, but they're small and hard to make out.
When Geordi is mind controlled by Romulans and tries to assassinate a Klingon, he slips a mini phaser out of a pocket.
Lower Decks uniforms, too. There's a scene where Rutherford learns about them.
My personal head canon is that every time a new species joins the Federation they get the perk of designing the new uniform. Troi's Betazeds picked the TOS miniskirt

Actually, fun fact- pocketless may be less practical, but they work on a space vessel, something that has a lot of moving parts that require maintenance and must operate to very high standards.
IRL people that work in and around those conditions are generally not allowed pockets to prevent any kind of pocket junk falling into a machine and potentially jamming it, so this isn't a practicality thing, it's a SAFETY thing.

The lack of pockets might keep junk from falling into machinery, but it sure as hell doesn't keep junk from falling out every time the Enterprise takes damage.

What about the phaser pocket add-on and the tricorder pocket add-on in TNG/ds9/voy.... Not only did those uniforms have pockets, though subtle and probably not very large, they existed, but you could also bolt on more pockets.
