Living in Texas also causes impaired brain development. Can we get a fucking warning for that too.

[–] BigMikeInAustin@lemmy.world 37 points 2 years ago (1 children)

This is factual true. Just look at education rankings between states.

[–] badbytes@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

That's why they call it the lone star state. Lowest rank.

[–] pdxfed@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

*, would not recommend

[–] KingJalopy@lemm.ee 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I mean everything's bigger there right?

[–] neidu2@feddit.nl 2 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

As a noggie that has been a lot to TX: Yup. And most of it not in a good way.

Disclaimer: Could be the case for the rest of US too. Apart from being stuck overnight in the worlds biggest truck stop (new jersey), I've only been to texas or in the neighborhood thereof

[–] KingJalopy@lemm.ee 2 points 2 years ago

It is, I lived there (sadly) for 26 years, before being moved to the absolute paradise that is Oklahoma.../s but, I'm literally moving to California today actually and I can't wait. It has its problems too but I'll take those over where I've been any day.

[–] Gerudo@lemm.ee 57 points 2 years ago (3 children)

They are going to fuck around and just ban porn aren't they. Fuck I hate this state.

[–] Tinfoiledhat@lemmy.world 33 points 2 years ago (1 children)

They went too purple, so need to make sure left-leaning voters leave. And keeps the debates off of topics that really matter

[–] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Wouldn't things like this motivate Blue voters to head to the poles and shift independents left?

[–] circuitfarmer@lemmy.world 14 points 2 years ago

In a perfect world where votes translated into policy changes, yes.

[–] neidu2@feddit.nl 17 points 2 years ago

The one star rating state. If it wasn't for the food it'd be zero.

[–] BigMikeInAustin@lemmy.world 16 points 2 years ago

Only for non-politicians.

But if you're a white male, you can rape an underage girl with barely any punishment.

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 34 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Oh. I thought this was satire.

[–] mysoulishome@lemmy.world 12 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Like a lot of conservative obsessions there is a grain of truth but they take it too far. Porn does affect your brain…but so does church and conservatism

[–] surewhynotlem@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Source? The only articles I found is that being depressed makes you consume more porn. But not the other way around.

[–] Spacehooks@reddthat.com 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It's like people seek things that make them happy when sad. That makes gop sad.

[–] RadicalEagle@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

They really are in a league of their own.

"We need people to be content while we make them miserable." - GoP

"We need people to be content while we make them miserable, so let's give them free porn." - normal capitalists

[–] Spacehooks@reddthat.com 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

These guys just want sex in marriages but don't understand repercussions. Like my wife can't keep up with my drive. She gets sore, I guess I better cheat since there is no porn....but I guess that leads to divorce and then more marriages? This is a conspiracy by big wedding!!!!

Whole bottom half is /s

[–] Notyou@sopuli.xyz 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Well you see, if you cheat on your wife the other lady might get pregnant to "convince you to leave your wife for her." I remember some Republican incoherently jibbering about "we got to have more kids."

I think we might have cracked that nut.

[–] Spacehooks@reddthat.com 2 points 2 years ago

Yeah but "the sanctity of marriage." my spouse father left his wife for mistress in attempt "to make it right". I'm Like "for who"? Maybe don't get another women pregnant or keep the baby when you are barely scrapping by as is. Meanwhile SO has to work 3 Jobs college and he ended up divorced again 10 Years later. Crazy no one could have predicted baby trapping by a women 5 years older than your daughter didn't work out.

Worst is my dad who toots sanctity of marriage while regularly abusing and cheating on his wife. "Oh it's a Covent with god" and all that. F you dude. I don't know why she sticks with him. Bro can't be bothered to treat her like a human. Legit treats dog better.

No shocker both are GOP a_holes

End game is more kids HATE them.

[–] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 25 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Pornhub should post a warning about how fossil fuel pollution impairs bain development.

[–] NegativeInf@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Can we remove all of the state legislature for having lead lined brains?

[–] Syringe@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

You're making a lot of assumptions here. I don't think they let you legislate in Texas if you've got a brain.

[–] Treczoks@lemm.ee 21 points 2 years ago

So, this means that Republicans consume porn regularly?

[–] sin_free_for_00_days@sopuli.xyz 21 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Damn! How much porn are they watching in Texas?

[–] DeepThought42@lemmy.world 13 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Assuming their assertion that porn causes brain impairments to be true then it becomes easy to surmise that their politicians have been watching a LOT of porn.

[–] sin_free_for_00_days@sopuli.xyz 7 points 2 years ago

Don't let the idiot voters off the hook.

[–] BigMikeInAustin@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

Texas conservative are running out of step-sister porn.

[–] Fapper_McFapper@lemmy.world 11 points 2 years ago (3 children)

Ah, so that’s what’s wrong with me.

[–] Subdivide6857@midwest.social 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)
[–] Holyginz@lemmy.world 19 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Pretty sure texas is more harmful than porn

[–] cmbabul@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago

Porn never let Ken Paxton have a job in government, point to porn

[–] BigMikeInAustin@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Texas "christians" would prefer that extra sperm to go forcibly into a walking womb as a gift from their god.

Other states would call that a human woman.

[–] themeatbridge@lemmy.world 10 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Wait, we can sue websites that impair brain development?

[–] Dkarma@lemmy.world 8 points 2 years ago

Parler in shambles

[–] FabledAepitaph@lemmy.world 8 points 2 years ago

This isn't the America they told me I should be proud of.

This makes total sense about why they want pornhub to do that..

[–] Jenntron@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago

As someone who was raised in Texas, grew up then traveled for decades before returning to Texas, I assure you that this is the goofiest of all the states.
