Jeans memes are funny, I just hate that 90% of the ones I've seen have been no effort AI slop. I'd so much rather see a shitty ms paint edit than an AI image for so many reasons, not the least of which is that it's just funnier seeing denim texture haphazardly pasted onto stuff than seeing an AI try to do it well

I mean yeah, of course. The jemories, the bemories and the memeries. They're all encompassed in the memories.
Some people look at the community more than others, and so they get bored at repetitive memes very quickly.
Some people look at the community very infrequently, and so see the "new" jeans meme trend, and post their own.
The meme gets downvoted a shitton, but they don't see the downvote because they don't visit often.
As long as the trend is low effort enough to participate in, there are no repercussions from downvotes, and the amount of time different people spend here varies, this will continue happening.
That's why i think we should ban GenAI posts.
GenAI posts are dumb and unfunny anyway because people don't put effort into them.
I understand that side of the argument 100%, but really it doesn't last all that long, and it's not like there's all that much content being posted anyway.
This kind of stuff brings the community together, generates a couple laughs for people who often don't laugh all that much and honestly I'd be willing to bet that the people who found it annoying enough to actually be angry at it wouldn't have laughed at much else anyway.
I do feel bad for people who were annoyed by it, and I also understand the argument against AI. I participated in the bean and jean posting but personally I never used AI and very rarely upvoted AI generated content but I don't mind it, sometimes it hits.
I've had a blast playing with gimp and learning more about the workflow and image editing software and I will make no apologies for that >:3

What's funny is that I browse here at least once a day, and I've seen zero of these jeans memes. Not a one. Dunno wtf you're all on about. Nor am I particularly interested. But this is the third damned meta post I've seen about these—apparently rampant—jeans memes.
What's funny is that you are lying. Just going to the community, there is at lest 5 out of 10 that are jeans posts, and old ones too. Unless you blocked the authors, there is plenty of them to see.
What the hell would my motivation be to lie about that? What a demented take. Ironically, right after posting the comment I did see a post with Patrick Stewart all in denim. First one. I think it's quite likely that I had already blocked many of the authors. One has to curate one's own experience here, and I frequently block people who repeatedly post content I'm not interested in, or just act like assholes. It's great!
Yeah, so you can't say "there is no denim posts I haven't seen any" when you have most of the authors there blocked.
I didn't say that they didn't exist. I merely commented on the fact that I hadn't seen any, which seemed odd to me, given the three meta posts which I had seen. There was really no reason at all for you to react with hostility (and more than once—like, what's your deal?*). Given that I already had you tagged as an idiot centrist, I'll be happily adding you to the list!
*This is rhetorical; I don't care
