They are all coming to my house for D&D and GoldenEye. We're going to make like Prince and party like it's 1999!

[–] TehBamski@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Damn dude. Can I be your friend!?

[–] Rhynoplaz@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You can.... But then you'll have to get your ass to Pennsylvania fast. We only have 24 hours!

[–] MicrosoftSam@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Goldeneye rocks

[–] ImplyingImplications@lemmy.ca 13 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

They're finally playing Deep Rock Galactic with me! If you don't Rock and Stone, you ain't coming home!

[–] TehBamski@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

ROCK AND STOOOOONNNNEEE!!

(Do you play on the US west coast servers?)

[–] OwenEverbinde@lemmy.myserv.one 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I am contemplating stealing this and turning it into a prompt for !writingprompts@literature.cafe

Something like,

"you have recently noticed that your friends will do everything you tell them. Is it a prank? A superpower? Doesn't matter. You won't let this opportunity go to waste."

[–] TehBamski@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] OwenEverbinde@lemmy.myserv.one 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It is done. But I have no idea how to link it.

Do I choose this?

https://literature.cafe/post/1367371

Do I choose this?

https://lemmy.myserv.one/post/1947047

Do I go over to Lemmy World and grab this link?

https://lemmy.world/post/4506074

Or should my link start with something other than https:// ?

[–] tja@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The first one throws a server error for me, the other two are working

Yeah, Literature Cafe seems to be down.

[–] GCanuck@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

First things first….

I’m gonna make friends with several beautiful women. Perhaps a local college volleyball team.

[–] shinigamiookamiryuu@lemm.ee 6 points 1 year ago

Signing up for all the websites I'm on so that it becomes easier to do things with them when the effect wears off.

[–] ericbomb@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Yay I can play all those board games that require multiple people!

[–] DefiantBidet@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

I, and I alone, will be doing nothing bc friends are something I don't seem to have

[–] toomanypancakes@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

We're gonna get high and play strip Guilty Gear

[–] chiscake@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Lord of the Rings marathon!! Extended edition!

[–] ulemmyagain@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago
[–] CrabLord@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I agree with this 1000%. It's not hard to get my friend group up for it in the first place, but if they have to, then I guess I get to recite all the trivia with minimal complaints.

Install Debian and learn linux.

Also set up a ssh/smb/wg server.

[–] naticus@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

But you only have 24 hours...

[–] Spider89@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

so...?

Is there something wrong? (Non-malicious)

[–] naticus@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Lol oh just that I've never installed Linux for personal use with it not turning into a 3 day adventure, minimum.

[–] Spider89@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

You'd be suprised what I do everyday. ;)

Ssh

WireGuard

Samba

Cryptsetup/LUKS

~~Suricata~~

~~pi-hole~~

I maintain these services all on a SBC the size of my palm (H3).

[–] naticus@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Hey if you're able to do all that efficiently, more power to ya! I'm decent at Linux but far from an expert and it never seems like I'm " done".

[–] Spider89@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I more or less the same...

I took a vocatinol school for cybersec and now I am doing college for server admin.

Hopefully, everthing I learned transfers.

Oddly, this is my 5th year with linux.

[–] naticus@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I have had a weird journey with Linux, personally. I've used it many times in the past, and one of my earliest installs when I was a teen, I was self teaching through trial by fire recompiling my kernel and hoping it was bootable afterwards.

Later I did SUSE briefly, then LFS for the experience, then Gentoo stage 1 installs. Wasn't until several years later that I really got back into it with running Ubuntu servers at work. About 25 years of IT later, I'm switching back to Linux with OpenSUSE as my DD.

Well first we'd have a nice lunch down by the ocean. I know of a great place that has a lot of food stores where you can get whatever type of food you want. Then, we're gonna go go-karting at a place in downtown. Then, we're gonna go to the mountain slope to go skiing because I've always wanted to do that. Have a break at the lodge to eat before skiing. Then after skiing have some more food and a break at the lodge then retire for the night.

[–] user224@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Which means nothing changes. It's still just me alone.

[–] TehBamski@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Ha. Why do you think that is?

[–] user224@lemmy.sdf.org 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] TehBamski@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Sorry. I meant, why do you think you don't have any friends currently?

[–] user224@lemmy.sdf.org 4 points 1 year ago

I've been thinking about an answer for 15 minutes now. I don't know. This is like those tough questions psychologist may give me.

I guess I am just too dumb and boring. The only people I can normally talk with are teachers. I still miss some teachers from middle school. Specifically my chemistry teacher, physics teacher and math teacher. Those guys were cool.

[–] neptune@dmv.social 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Probably delete a bunch of data at a bank, fox news, or the RNC.

[–] big_slap@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

we'd go to my local brew, get drunk, hit the local boardwalk and then come back to my place and play halo

Eat a well done steak with Kraft mac and cheese and go see Morbid Angel (original lineup) live.
