japan-cool I hate how Japan's seedier shitier aspects get overlooked because of pokemon and anime, vassal state of american capitalism fucked up an entire country.

japan and south korea are in a very unfortunate sort of hypercapitalism-off where the poor people lose.

I have a slightly different view in that I think that the seedier sex side of Japan gets too much attention whereas the seedier crime and corruption stuff doesn't get enough. Most Westoids have probably heard more about non-existent (or at least incredibly niche) used panty vending machines than the well documented history of Japanese PMs meeting with heads of Yakuza organizations.

The average Westoid is way more interested in fetishizing and sexualizing Japanese women than any of the other structural dysfunctions of Japanese society. "Weird Japan" stories get more clicks than actual journalism about major political scandals.

To be fair the more prominent reports of the yakuza are from annoying westerners who like to spice things up

When it comes to streaming content, Japan has always been on the cutting edge of sleaze. Japan really is a nation of heightened contradictions, without the CIA-backed one party state they're stuck with they definitely would have had some kind of revolution by now.

I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:

Is there anything saying you can't cover the camera? Im guessing there would be

[–] jol@discuss.tchncs.de 14 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Or that you can't do something that would get you banned on YouTube.

[–] QuillcrestFalconer@hexbear.net 22 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Masturbating for the livestream to get the hotel channel banned from youtube think-about-it

my hungarian heritage has given me a hairy asshole that the viewers must see

[–] huf@hexbear.net 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

... are we particularly known for having hairy assholes? how have i missed this?

[–] booty@hexbear.net 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

i think it's kind of a central european stereotype about body hair in general, not specifically the asshole

that's what i've heard as an american, anyway.

[–] huf@hexbear.net 2 points 1 year ago

huh, i thought that was more about greeks, armenians, that sort of thing. never heard memes about central europeans being hairier than western europeans. but that may be because i'm from here :)

on average the hair is darker cos you start running out of blond people by the time you get to central europe, so i guess it can look a bit more hairy?

[–] mar_k@hexbear.net 15 points 1 year ago

[–] Aria@lemmygrad.ml 10 points 1 year ago

Who are these legions of people tuning in to watch you sleep enough to cover hotel costs?

[–] RyanGosling@hexbear.net 9 points 1 year ago

Didn’t they already do this and they ended up torturing and humiliating the dude living in the apartment as part of some game show
