Hello everyone~ The megathread is very eepy this week so I am being very quiet and not posting a whole essay as that might disturb their rest. The megathread does a lot of work for us after all, so they deserve to rest a little. Our regularly scheduled effortposts will continue next week.

A few ants crawled into my water bottle without me realizing and I accidentally ingested one. It was bitter and acidic and really gross

I know youre joking but if you've eaten anything you've probably eaten a lot of cockroach dust or legs or fruit flies or pretty much whatever. They try to clean it all but it ain't always possible to get every last bug out.
The fact you could taste it suggests you have the ant smell gene though! Not everyone can smell ants. They do not smell good to those who can lol
Yeah and weevil eggs are pretty much guaranteed to be in flour and a certain amount of maggots (or maggot particles) are allowed in canned tomatoes and other canned foods. I try not too think too much about it lol

Fun thing of ants you can figure out where they been based off of their smell, some can smell sweet so they go into some sugar some awful so probably garbage. I find this fun at least and helpful if you ever wanna figure out the source.
Going by taste I'd have to say... garbage ant. Or maybe cat food ant since they've been swarming that aggressively lately. That's interesting tho. I've never tried smelling them, I guess I'll give it a shot some time lol
