I mean he JUST turned 18... I'll give Trump that one... plus, I can't remember how old my kid is either... Coming up on 28 here in a few months.

[–] gregorum@lemm.ee 31 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago) (1 children)

Don’t make excuses for this fuck bag. If his overpaid team of mediocre lawyers can’t do it, why should you?

I can't remember how old my kid is either... Coming up on 28 here in a few months.

Also, since apparently it needs saying, I will not vote for you for President. And that is how ridiculous it is to hold yourself, some random commenter on an Internet message board, to the same standard as to someone who is running for the office of president of the United States.

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Lawyers aren't entering in to remembering how old your kid is, I'm just saying I've been there so I give him a pass on that one. Only that one though. :) The rest of his fuckery is on him.

[–] gregorum@lemm.ee -5 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago) (1 children)

Lawyers are arguing legal technicalities because that’s what lawyers do, because that’s how they win cases.

And, excuse me, but where have you been? Paying off a porn star to rig an election? Actually rigging an election? Or throwing a coup because you fucked up rigging the election?

Or just watching it all on Newmax and YouTube, where “content creators” tell you it’s all “deep state lies”? Lmao … meanwhile the Jan 6 convictions continue

Ya know, I really have very little patience who wanna “give a pass” to the likes of bigoted, neo-fascist, narcissistic con men like Trump. There’s no reason and rational person would argue this unless they’re a follower and believe they have something to gain, and you certainly haven’t made anything close to a convincing argument. The best you have offered is that you also such and shouldn’t president, to which I have no argument, but it doenst really help Trump in any way, sooo….

I think we’re done here.

You're reading far too into it. The person said that they are willing to let him pass on this specific mistake. The person is not saying that they forgive Trump.

[–] gregorum@lemm.ee 0 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Ok, even if I’m reading too much into it, my position is still that Trump doesn’t deserve any forgiveness for this.

[–] rockSlayer@lemmy.world 7 points 6 months ago

Personally, I do not care at all about birthdays or specific ages. To me, this feels like a nothing story to keep eyes on Trump.

[–] jonne@infosec.pub 21 points 6 months ago

Yeah, weird how the press jumps on petty shit like this and not stuff like what he's actually planning to do if elected.

[–] sik0fewl@lemmy.ca 12 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

The problem with Trump is not that he can't remember one of his kids' age.

[–] Zaktor@sopuli.xyz 9 points 6 months ago

Is it harder or easier to remember their age when the birthday was less than two months ago. I feel like the 18th is also one of those birthdays where they emphasize the specific age a lot too.

[–] snausagesinablanket@lemmy.world 5 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I know what day and time my daughter was born. She is 27.

[–] negativeyoda@lemmy.world 6 points 6 months ago (1 children)

My kid and I share the same birthday so as long as I don't forget mine, I'm set.

Checkmate

[–] takeda@lemmy.world 4 points 6 months ago (6 children)

Unless you have Alzheimer's, that only means you are not involved with your kid. I know exactly how old mine are and when their birthdays are and I'm normally not good with dates. The thing with birthdays is that the dates stay the same so there's no excuse not to remember it.

[–] xmunk@sh.itjust.works 36 points 6 months ago (2 children)

Personally, I don't remember how the fuck old I am most of the time and I'm quickly approaching 40.

[–] jonne@infosec.pub 15 points 6 months ago

Yep, whenever I need to know my own age I have to quickly calculate in my head to make sure I still have the correct age in my mind.

[–] Tylerdurdon@lemmy.world 7 points 6 months ago

Amen. It's silly that I have to do math to figure out my own age.

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 29 points 6 months ago

Bruh I lose track of my age regularly and only check in every five to ten years.

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 10 points 6 months ago

My kid was tricky because of the date... I couldn't remember if he was turning 18 on the 19th or 19 on the 18th. It was one of those...

But that was 10 years ago now.

[–] rockSlayer@lemmy.world 4 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

My siblings and I are the closest we've ever been. I forget their ages constantly. I forget my age constantly. I love my parents. I never remember their ages and nearly every year I need to be reminded when their birthdays are. I barely remember my own birthday, usually I don't even care unless my birthday is on a Friday or a weekend. Not everyone is you.

[–] rusticus@lemm.ee 2 points 6 months ago

Porque no los dos?

[–] CasualPenguin@reddthat.com 1 points 6 months ago

Wow lol, did more reddit people migrate because assuming someone isn't involved with their kid because they aren't exactly like you is wild
