I feel like the lemmyverse has been that way at least for many months when suddenly so many people seemed far more concerned about an election almost a year away more than things happening in the present. Recent topics just highlighted the underlying changes more acutely imo.

If you're on hexbear, do you still see the stuff from the instances that defederate from you (ie: hexbear shows their comments, but the other instances that block hexbear don't show comments from hexbear users to their users?). Many of those instances are probably some of the worst offenders, but broader trends probably eventually filter into more instances.
