Clothes for dudes basically comes down to t-shirts and trousers. And for shirts, one's mostly limited to brands, bands, and sports teams. Or, even fucking worse, some pithy comment like "not married and happy", or "have drink, me good", or whatever the feck people find clever these days. I oftentimes default to the H&M look, as it's the least corny looking style I see, and that's not saying much.

Women's clothes have all these cute tops with no shit written on it. There's more variation in colours and shape. You can mix it up by having a half top (whatever you call those). Don't want to wear a top and trousers that day, then wear a dress or a skirt.

Obviously the huge advantage of being a guy is that you can be ugly af, indeed I am an ugly fecking dude, and you're accepted. I assume it's harder for women in this regard, let me know if I'm wrong.

I might be fully wrong, but working in a "formal dress" environment, women seem to have a lot more flexibility. The trousers and shirts of some are so damn close to weekend wear. The men all have to wear ties and trousers. Fuck, I don't care. Definitely not complaining that it's unfair, I have enough real shit to grieve over.

The main downside for women is that some places still mandate or "strongly suggest" high heels, which is a travesty.

Strongly agree. I wonder if it's the low end of the corporate world, because they're borderline torture.

I've seen enough senior exec level women still wear them so idk if it's just baked into their brains by the time they reach that level. Honestly there should be labor laws forbidding mandatory high heels for women.

Possibly exec women need to wear them, I have zero knowledge about this. I just see that, in schools, teachers don't really wear heals, so that's my reference.

Gawd, if I was a woman, I'd only wear them for dinner party level shit if I could get away with it.

There's more flexibility in the sense that there are more distinct pieces available, but that choice is still chained to the rigid inflexibility of women's beauty constraints.
