When I start getting recognized at a store or a restaurant, I stop going. I want to be anonymous to you, retail worker. You don't have to make small talk, it's alright, I remember my retail manager being on my ass about "being friendly and approachable" and how much I resented it. Unless you really are just naturally outgoing, I guess, but even then.
a lot of people just like their regulars! i know that's the case at a lot of the places i go to. definitely way worse at a grocery store though, i basically said this in so many words to a cashier once
I tend to go unnoticed a lot or people avoid talking to me too. Not that I'm complaining. I can be friendly but I don't force it because I can't do fake nice
Yeah but my falafel guy never gets my order wrong and gives me extra hummus on the side instead of tzatziki cause he knows I'm vegan.
And one place, I sometimes didn't have to wait in line (always ordered the same thing) and got free food.
One bar I go to gives me a free beer because I'm big friends with the bartender
This is me. Also at the doctors office. I can choose between like 6 drs and I always choose another one to make it harder for them to remember me.
