"any left leaning circle, except the ones full of commies, they traffic in disinformation"

The "heads need to roll" point is one we can use. Any upper-level Democrat who's had access to Biden and lied about his condition should resign. They're the one saying the stakes couldn't be higher, and they lie about how inept their candidate is? And that's not even getting into the issue of having an inept day-to-day president.

Rank-and-file Dems won't get behind "Biden is a war criminal who should be arrested and turned over to the ICC." This is the type of idea they will get behind, and it can be used to eventually bring some to ~~of~~ the left of the party.

I'm going to keep it real with you,

We're not going to bring any of the left into the democratic party.

[–] crusa187@lemmy.ml 4 points 4 months ago

I kind of agree, success of Justice Dems being muted at best being a prime example. I just don’t think the DNC is capable of breaking away from the corporate money train without crumbling. As difficult as it may be to create a new party, it does seem like the path of least resistance to getting leftists in power.

[–] 420blazeit69@hexbear.net 3 points 4 months ago (1 children)

This is just defeatist.

Fifteen years ago there was no significant organization left of the Democratic Party. The growth in leftist numbers and organization since then has been enormous. Why are we suddenly at the point where there can be no further movement?

[–] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 6 points 4 months ago (1 children)

It can only work at the local level. At the national level it's always been a waste of energy to do entryism, the party is too good at propping up corporate dems to primary effective leftists with AIPAC money. The ones who remain become Pelosis, such as AOC. It's a strategy with a bad track record, it seems like the easiest path toward power but it's not a coherent solution; activists work outside of the Demoocratic party then people like AOC suck the energy out of any movement and take credit. We can still use the Democratic Party as a springboard since most of the people who are already sympathetic to us are currently Democrats, flip the script on them, but to try to build the left inside the Democratic Party is just asking to be undermined by opportunists.

...I think we're talking about different things. I said we can bring people to the left of the Democratic Party. I think you read that as bringing the left in to the Democratic Party.

I wasn't suggesting entryism, I was suggesting we can get people to realize the Democratic Party is never going to provide any real improvements.

[–] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 6 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Ah, fair enough. So we agree then.

[–] Barx@hexbear.net 11 points 4 months ago

Bernie Bros were telling you Biden was senile in 2019 lmao

[–] Evilphd666@hexbear.net 3 points 4 months ago

Since we have turn based politics, it's about time for stalin-heart to rise from the grave

[–] Assian_Candor@hexbear.net 23 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Fr how funny would it be if the Dems switched to Hillary and she lost again

[–] Justice@lemmygrad.ml 20 points 4 months ago

If she runs and Trump apologizes for not locking her up last time and promises to do it this time... might have to push that button... bait too good

[–] Evilphd666@hexbear.net 32 points 4 months ago

Please please I want to see her again be the nominee hillgasm and then lose to a-little-trolling again. Double tap the empire.

While she is a uniquely bad candidate, I actually do think she is and was a better candidate than Biden. It's a somewhat weird place to be

She's more visible but he's been on the wrong side of every social issue and generally at least slightly shittier than her for forty years.

[–] BakerBagel@midwest.social 9 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Clinton has been wildly unpopular for the past 30 years. Biden may have been uncomfortably pro-segregation, been best friends with Storm Thurmond, and help usher in the neoliberal order, but he was veey popular as the Obama's VP, and that image has carried him a long way since 2009. Hillary massively fails the vibe check.

[–] themoken@startrek.website 9 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

Yep, Biden is basically riding Obama's coattails even today as President and everyone just overlooks that he was the racist centrist there to placate the "moderates"

[–] FnordPrefect@hexbear.net 9 points 4 months ago

the-democrat Kamala Who-ris?

[–] mayo_cider@hexbear.net 7 points 4 months ago

[–] DesertComrade@hexbear.net 3 points 4 months ago

Biden is way worse than Hillary At least Hillary pretends to care about reproductive rights Somehow the democratic nominee has only gotten worse and worse every cycle
