  • If she becomes the Democratic nominee, Harris' age could be an advantage against Trump.

They call him the incoherent rambler. Everyone is saying it.

And everyone really is saying it, too

I have the biggest cognitive decline, just tremendous, all the doctors are saying it, they're saying "sir, your cognitive decline has been faster than I've seen in anyone else." I make no sense at all, it's amazing folks

As a nickname, yes. For POTUS, hell no.

[–] Zipitydew@sh.itjust.works 16 points 3 months ago (4 children)

Oh of course. I just know he does the alliteration thing for insulting others because he's dumb and his base is too. Which unfortunately makes it effective.

So giving ole Diaper Don some alliterative handles is both too easy and fun. There are tons of options and I'm sure Dumbass Don would love to hear them all.

He's already having issues with his speech and he keeps doing these weird tangential rants that don't make any sense.

[–] snooggums@midwest.social 38 points 3 months ago (1 children)

He has been doing this aince 2016 and it has only gotten worse!

As much as I hate trump. I'd rather have that narcissistic shit of a useful idiot sitting between us and Vance if that fucking fascist ever gets near that seat.

That guy is everything wrong with trump wrapped up in a more emotionally intelligent, sharper, more charismatic, more attractive, and younger package.

He's the exact sort of motherfucker I've been expecting them to push after him to take advantage of the path he created, and its fucking terrifying.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 36 points 3 months ago (1 children)

There is no way anyone would be able to convince Trump to drop out. He decided in 2019 that he was entitled to a second term. He's not going to change his mind now.

[–] fine_sandy_bottom@discuss.tchncs.de 22 points 3 months ago (3 children)

It's all or bust for trump. White house or jail.

I think Kamala should take Trump up on that cognitive test offer he wanted to take with Biden.

Nah, fuck a golf match. Who gives a shit about golf?

[–] Zachariah@lemmy.world 19 points 3 months ago (6 children)

Donald does. And he would not take losing well.

I want a president that doesn't have dementia, isn't a racist, is not a rapist, and doesn't have 34 felonies. One that didn't bang a porn star for an obscene amount of campaign fund money while their wife was home pregnant. Bonus points for not shitting their pants and having to wear diapers. (not the look I want representing our great country, some fat smelling like shit orange buffoon.)

[–] davidagain@lemmy.world 17 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Would you like one that respects the democratic result of an election and hands over power to their successor peacefully? One that didn't promise to be dictator from day one this time? Would you like senators that don't write "finish them" on Israeli bombs?

And that's before all the laws he broke... And trying to undermine the American constitution... And the changing the system so he could be immune.

Let's not forget those things too.

On TOP! Of him being far too old.

What I find most mad is that Kamala Harris is nearing retirement age for many industries - yet compared to many in her line of work she seems like she's in her thirties and has a whole new career ahead of her.

[–] sc2pirate@lemmy.world 23 points 3 months ago

Remember back in 2001 when everyone freaked out at Cheney's age? He was 60. Our "young" potential candidate is 59.

Oh no, it seems you didn't get the memo! Commenting on a candidates physical year count and mental decrepitude is now ageist and forbidden. Please be better in the future. - CNN

Dementia Donald is no match for Capable Kamala

[–] cosmicrookie@lemmy.world 33 points 3 months ago (8 children)

At least his sentences are coherent /s

[–] dactylotheca@suppo.fi 103 points 3 months ago (5 children)

It's fucking wild that conservatives listen to Trump and hear an intelligent and coherent person.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 63 points 3 months ago (5 children)

He said this in 2016:

Look, having nuclear — my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart — you know, if you're a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I'm one of the smartest people anywhere in the world — it's true! — but when you're a conservative Republican they try — oh, do they do a number — that's why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune — you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we're a little disadvantaged — but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me — it would have been so easy, and it's not as important as these lives are — nuclear is so powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what's going to happen and he was right, who would have thought? — but when you look at what's going on with the four prisoners — now it used to be three, now it's four — but when it was three and even now, I would have said it's all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don't, they haven't figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it's gonna take them about another 150 years — but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us, this is horrible.

He was still elected.

I love these transcripts, they always sound like a conversation some rambling old man is having with his hospice nurse.

Ok Mr. Trump, very good. Now take your medications.

No, it's that they hear someone they understand. "He says it like it is," is white people speak for "his words aren't confusing me." Bc really all Don ever does is tell a story like a trailer park kid. It speaks to their biases and emotions and that's all they care about

[–] BlemboTheThird@lemmy.ca 17 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I doubt most of them listen to him at all. They listen to Fox or Newsmax or whatever social media, who only cherrypick the fragments that sound vaguely coherent, and conversely only played the pieces of Biden's speeches that were incoherent. They either don't realize or don't care that they're not looking at the whole picture.

I just walked my dog past a big red pickup truck with stickers that had a picture of Biden with "I just shit my pants" and "BLM: Biden Loves Minors" (so classy) and it really struck me how extremely Biden focused the Republican memes have been.

Like we used to have "Pelosi is secretly running things" or like even Mitt Romney was running against Obama but his attacks were about Democrats as a whole, they were tax and spend liberals building the nanny state.

The flip side to Trump's immature style is that it IS extremely specific, and like you can't just go "actually it's Meatball Nikki Haley." Obviously you can invent different immature nicknames and memes but it is hard to telegraph them with the convention out of the way.

[–] limelight79@lemm.ee 39 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I just saw a headline that Trump appears to be upset because he's spent so much time and money fighting Biden, and none fighting Harris or other potential candidates.

I laughed.

[–] Nastybutler@lemmy.world 38 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Yeah he actually "Truthed" (lol) that he thinks the Dems owe him compensation for Joe dropping out due to all the money his campaign has spent attacking Joe. What a cunt

[–] limelight79@lemm.ee 18 points 3 months ago (1 children)

HAHAHAHAHA. That is hilarious.

[–] VanillaBean@lemmy.world 22 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

PASS THE TORCH He's done it many times, at the KKK rallies in the woods that he's probably attended.

[–] Wirlocke@lemmy.blahaj.zone 21 points 3 months ago (1 children)

My ultimate hope is that Trump decoheres to the point of never having a future chance of winning but keeps running anyways, ultimately blocking the party as a whole. Karmic punishment for raising this guy to a seat of power in the first place.
