Actually, it's pretty alright! Being below deck during rough weather sucks and the morning after shore leave ain't great either. But it wasn't a bad gig.
How am I supposed to traverse Antarctica (a continental land mass) in a big wooden ship? Does the ship have wheels and sleds? Because Antarctica is a desert. A cold one, yes, but still a very-much-hostile-to-sea-faring-wessels desert.
Someone will have to get out and pull
I'm questioning the logistics of dragging ships along across the antarctic mountains, but as long as I am one of those riding the ships instead of dragging, I'm game.
Why does this feel relatable
Because it's a mission with purpose. Real purpose, not the "hit that deadline" purpose.
It's an urge deep within us all.
So we gotta be trans to go on the trip?

Yeah, I think so. And then I guess they make you reverse it on the return trip. Maritime rules are weird.

My roommate went to Omega Mart a few days ago and all she got me was this pack of chewing gum and maybe covid. Hopefully not the covid, but she's got it right now. :/

Shit I just want the office job so I can quit being killed for nearly minimum wage. Plus I hate the cold.
I just want food service workers to be treated like actual people. I love cooking food but between corporate and customers I'm at a limit 😮💨

I don't know if, knowing what I know now about how Shakleton's trip went, I would sign up for an expedition on the Endurance.
If you sign up for an expedition and things go wrong, you better hope it’s with Shackleton.
If I remember right, he hammered nails through his boots to make primitive ice cleats, hiked out of there with a small group to safety, then immediately returned with help to rescue his men. Dude was a badass.
