Don't have an answer but Comrade, with love, why would you ever visit Hexbear on a work PC? The boss owns that shit, keep your work and personal life separate so they don't have dirt on you.

Vaush posts go in the_dunk_tank
Dunk posts in general go in the_dunk_tank, not here
Don't post low-hanging fruit here after it gets removed from the_dunk_tank
They also track your computer usage.
I mean, that depends on the workplace
But I thought we all worked at Soros/Obama-funded Woke Forward Operating Bases or affiliates?? This isn't work for all of you?
Don't forget us Putin posters!
I post for free because I love hexbear
Depends on the workplace, my last work pc was “My old laptop that now lives in the lab”
if no one posted on the clock, we wouldn't have Shrekland
so i can style on my employer by getting paid to post
because fuck the man, what are they gonna do i am literally the only thing keeping this shit goin
That's funny, I thought it was just me. Firefox on desktop and Android.
Something might be messing with your cookies. On firefox there is a setting that deletes your cookie history on exit, you may want to check if you have enabled that or if you have enabled icognito by default.
That's just hexbear's proprietary praxis feature,
Same issue here on Lemmygrad, Firefox desktop. Couldn't find anyone else mentioning it.
50% chance you have an extension that is fucking with the cookie. Other 50% chance is that its a lemmy bug with the way its stores cookies.
Try
- Delete all hexbear cookies, localStorage, cache, etc
- Disable all browser extensions
iOS Firefox has been doing the same thing for me! The Safari web app I normally use doesn’t have that issue, but when I use Firefox it does.
Have you recently installed an anti-cookie add-on?
dont think so, but i did swap to bit defender for antivirus?
I see a feature listed on their paid version claiming it "Blocks web trackers from collecting your data" so try adding hexbear.net to its whitelist?
i'm not using their paid version, and its added to my exception list for "online threat prevention" so i dunno
Also having this issue on Android w/ Mull
I've been getting logged out a lot too. It seems to happen after Hexbear is having server issues.
I haven't been able to log on on my phone in months
Way back when (early 2024), i think you had to clear your browser cache to fix this issue, give that a try
I think it's been longer than that. I hadn't been able to log in at all without incognito mode for well over a year.
Deleting all cookies from hexbear/chapochat was the fix iirc. I had to use an addon called EditThisCookie2 in order to do it properly though
Yeah, I fixed it by clearing my cache for the page. I also had to do some incantations and sacrifice a lamb.
Does the same thing happen in private mode/incognito? That'll test the effect of clearing your cookies and disabling extensions at the same time
edit: Maybe this bug report is related? Although I've been using Firefox 129 for a week or two with no problem.
I can't load comments that are collapsed
Yeah same (Firefox Developer Edition 130.0b9), remember logged in doesn't work, have to log in Hexbear again if I close the tab. Lemmy/Lemmygrad works fine though.
