Breadtube if it didn't suck.

Post videos you genuinely enjoy and want to share, duh. Celebrate the diversity of interests shared by chapochatters by posting a deep dive into Venetian kelp farming, I dunno. Also media criticism, bite-sized versions of left-wing theory, all the stuff you expected. But I am curious about that kelp farming thing now that you mentioned it.

Low effort / spam videos might be removed, especially weeb content.

There is a cytube that you can paste videos into and watch with whoever happens to be around. It's open submission unless there's something important to commandeer it with at the time.

A weekly watch party happens every Saturday (Sunday down under), with video nominations Saturday-Monday, voting Monday-Thursday. See the pin for whatever stage it's currently in.

I personally know the harm worms wriggling around your body can do.

Does this end with her dumping a bear corpse in central park

[–] Robert_Kennedy_Jr@hexbear.net 37 points 2 months ago (3 children)

She recovered and is totally fine. Also just because someone had worms in them that died and calcified in the area of the brain responsible for empathy or good judgment doesn't mean they need to be stigmatized for it for the rest of their lives.

The Worm loves us.

It will always love us, and thus it always has.

It winds around the hot heart of our home star.

It winds around every infinitesimal loop of genetic information.

It provokes a shuddering series of cataclysms in the planetary crust of our home, but when our star grows cold, that cataclysm will warm us.

We understand so much more.

Let's see Trump wiggle out of THIS brainworms

[–] LanyrdSkynrd@hexbear.net 20 points 2 months ago (1 children)

The part of this story that amazed me was that the dark web dealer sent real worms. If you sent capsules with something inert like sand in them, what would be the consequences? Nobody is going to be able to tell it's not real before the escrow is released.

Sending the real worms is an actual legal risk, I'd think.

[–] Robert_Kennedy_Jr@hexbear.net 23 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

That's what's wrong with kids these days. This small business owner obviously takes pride in their online parasite business. Delivering quality, real tape worms that give their customers real weight loss results.

[–] oscardejarjayes@hexbear.net 17 points 2 months ago (1 children)

If you're going to go through all the trouble of getting stuff off the dark web, just get meth or amphetamine sulfate. Those are actually used as extreme weight loss medication.

[–] oscardejarjayes@hexbear.net 9 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

Not exactly risk free either, though.

[–] Hexboare@hexbear.net 9 points 2 months ago

The risk? Too good you can't stop

hyperwormemia emergency-room an overabundance of worms in the brain

Something about that guy gives me the heebie jeebies beyond just the gross medical subject material he covers

I don't want to slander him if he's actually a nice guy but if you told me his favorite thing as a kid was burning ants with a magnifying glass or dissecting frogs I wouldn't be surprised

[–] grazing7264@hexbear.net 1 points 2 months ago

I've heard he's a homophobe and fatphobic but I may be misremembering

Incredible that anyone would do this. There are over the counter options that are safer and more effective.

The last time he made a dark web drug video, he combined multiple news stories into one fictional one. Crazy how he never lost his credibility over it.

[–] ImmortanStalin@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 2 months ago

This is natvral!

[–] keepcarrot@hexbear.net 11 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Would you still love me if I was a tapeworm?

[–] shasta@lemm.ee 3 points 2 months ago

I've seen that anime

[–] Owl@hexbear.net 7 points 2 months ago (1 children)

What happened? I don't want to watch a 20 minute video that's probably gonna give me the heebie jeebies. But I still want to know.

[–] Robert_Kennedy_Jr@hexbear.net 18 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (2 children)

A woman was having trouble losing weight and saw some post on Instagram about how tape worms would held shed the pounds like nothing. She used Bitcoin to buy some online and the capsules with the worms in them included two different species, one that stays in your gut that's found in cows and another common in pigs that can travel through tissue. She started getting brain swelling and seizures because they were in her face and the liquid barrier that separates your brain from your skull.

[–] electric_nan@lemmy.ml 11 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Yeah yeah yeah. Did she lose weight though??

[–] Robert_Kennedy_Jr@hexbear.net 8 points 2 months ago (1 children)

She did lose weight but started to plateau so kept eating more worms.

[–] electric_nan@lemmy.ml 6 points 2 months ago

There's an ouroborous joke in there somewhere.

[–] Owl@hexbear.net 6 points 2 months ago

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Thanks for the summary.

[–] SpiderFarmer@hexbear.net 7 points 2 months ago

There was a period where I considered going for microbiology. Witnessing things like fly-strike and the like probably broke some shit in my brain and I was just riveted while studying stuff like worms and fleas.
