Is this #3 so far, if we count what Kamala did to him at the debate? And to think we are still in September.

Dear America, Please stop trying to shoot Donald Trump. He's got like 100 years of prison coming up in 2025. If you shoot him you make him a martyr and deny us the long crushing process of justice.

I'll eat my hat if this clown ever sees the inside of a cell..

Even though I agree with you, we need the justice system to either sentence him to jail or completely shit the bed and say he's too special.

Either way, we (the citizens) get the information we need and can react accordingly.

If someone extra judiciously executes him before that happens, then judges will breathe a sigh of relief and we will have kicked the can down the road.

We needED the justice system to sentence him. It didn’t.

Justice delayed is justice denied.

Compromise: someone shoots him in the mushroom tip (prevents most further assault on the women and children) then jail

[–] IcePee@lemmy.beru.co 4 points 3 days ago

At this stage, I'll settle for a guilty verdict and a perp walk.

Trump is a cult of personality, nobody is going to be charismatic enough to be able to fill his shoes. And that includes his kids

It's a snake, not a hydra

[–] Mirshe@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

That's the thing about martyrs - nobody NEEDS to fill his shoes. They just need to claim to be "carrying on his legacy" and constantly refer back to him, and that's good enough for a large portion of the cult.

We've seen this exact thing happen with a lot of cults that have gone mainstream - it happened with Mormonism, and it happened with Scientology.

[–] NocturnalEngineer@lemmy.world 12 points 3 days ago

Might be why they're trying to kill him, to make him a martyr. That and being mentally ill.

[–] QuentinCallaghan@sopuli.xyz 6 points 3 days ago

Exactly. I'd rather see him behind bars.

[–] medicsofanarchy@lemmy.world 38 points 3 days ago

There's really nothing we can do about it. It's just a fact of life.

[–] uebquauntbez@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

All good things are three. Free, i meant free.

Amazing how all these gun nuts can't shoot a fucking gun. If you own it you better know how to use it properly. They are as pathetic as we thought they were.

[–] p3n@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Ironically, a bolt-action hunting rifle which is legal in all 50 states would be a much better choice for an assassination attempt than "assault rifles" like an AR-15 or the even less accurate AK-47. So not only can they not shoot, they apparently don't know anything about rifles either.

[–] Zier@fedia.io 3 points 2 days ago

These 'individuals' watch action movies and think they are top gun or rambo or some other fantasy version of how firearms or explosives work. If we had a Hollywood action movie that used real situations, it would be a 10 minute movie. These are not the brightest in the American culture.

Not advocating anything here but logic tells me there's loads of stress involved.

[–] Zier@fedia.io 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Properly using a firearm requires calm, concentration & precision. As well as a ton of target practice to actually hit any target.

also, the first guy was going for a head shot. don't go for the head when you want to kill someone, you're probably gonna miss. shoot the chest. lots of vital organs there, hit any number of them and the target will most likely die. especially if the target is old and in poor health.

you'd* better know

Where do you get one of those AK-47 lapel pins, anyway

[–] user1234@lemmynsfw.com 5 points 2 days ago

Not sure, but I bet they're made in China

[–] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

Let him soak in it

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 9 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Should have been an AK-47 but, sure...

[–] lurch@sh.itjust.works 19 points 3 days ago

this could be a reference to the gun pin some republicans wear after mass shootings to mock the victims for political gain. not sure
