Welcome to c/news! Please read the Hexbear Code of Conduct and remember... we're all comrades here.

Rules:

-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --

-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --

-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --

-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today/ . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --

-- Mass tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken markov chain bot will result in a comm ban--

-- Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.--

-- Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned. --

-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --

"First they came for the Gooners
which is really pretty ironic if you think about it" thinking-about-it

Among men ages 18-29, 44% had watched porn within the past month. Among men ages 30-49, it was 57%.

Side-track but isn't it interesting that it's higher in the 30+

An explanation jumps to my mind.

This surprises me, actually. I was under the impression that young people are having less sex than before, so I would have thought that that (along with the proliferation of smartphones) would lead to higher rates of porn consumption. But then again, maybe the high rates of congruent depression thanks to their grim present and even grimmer future has tanked their libidos so hard that they can't even muster up the energy to open up a PornHub tab doomscroll

Yeah, it's that last bit.

It could also be that there is more awareness of the problems with chronic masturbation/porn consumption as they grew up aware of issues like incels

Lots of Project 2025 ghouls also watch porn. Banning something often makes it still available but more exclusive and ghouls really like access to exclusive things.

Open up pornhub, click a video. Starts to play.

I'm Kamala Harris and I approve this message.

I miss skippable ads more and more every election.

I don't think protecting porn online is a vote winner because even if the porn gets taken away people will imagine that they'll still be able to access it quietly on the dark parts of the internet.

People won't actually believe that it would be restricted until it is.

I can't be the only paypig farmer whose posted thirst bait with fomo captions like project 2025 is going to make THESE illegal and it's like the same 5 year old photo of my shit midrange tits I've been posting on twitter since day 1.

What are terminal republican gooners like Mark Robinson to do once nudeafrica gets banned?

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 9 points 1 month ago

They'll have their own special exclusive rich asshole exceptions of contraband and part of what they get off to is being too special for the law to reach. didnt-kill-himself

The PAC's website (which does seem to be SFW although it has the word PORN written in large font all over), since it wasn't linked to in the article:
