badposting is a comm where you post badly

This is not a !the_dunk_tank@hexbear.net alternative. This is not a !memes@hexbear.net alternative. This is a place for you to post your bad posts.

Ever had a really shitty bit idea? Joke you want to take way past the point of where it was funny? Want to feel like a stand-up comedy guy who's been bombing a set for the past 30 minutes straight and at this point is just saying shit to see if people react to it? Really bad pun? A homemade cringe concoction? A cognitohazard that you have birthed into this world and have an urge to spread like chain mail?

Rules:

  1. Do not post good posts.
    • Unauthorized goodposting is to be punished in the manner of commenting the phrase "GOOD post" followed by an emoji that has not yet been used in the thread
    • Use an emoticon/kaomoji/rule-three-abiding ASCII art if the rations run out
  2. This is not a comm where you direct people to other people's bad posts. This is a comm where you post badly.
  3. This rule intentionally left blank.
  4. If you're struck for rule 3, skill issue, not allowed to complain about it.

Code of Conduct applies just as much here as it does everywhere else. Technically, CoC violations are bad posts. On the other hand: L + ratio + get ~~better~~ worse material bozo

I think a tankie class would perform well in a real army. Why has no one thought of this yet?

Which is funny, I'm pretty sure the comics positioned Heavy against the Soviets (which makes no sense given Heavy's background). The one criticism I have of TF2 as a setting; I'm convinced a writer just had anti-commie brainworms

You're pretty much right. His dad was a white soldier but apparently nearly all of his cosmetics in the game are based around Soviet or overall Russian culture. Weirdly enough, most of those cosmetics don't say anything bad about the USSR and actually have some pretty cheeky jokes; going so far as to let you dress up as Stalin with a machine-gun.

in the same issue as well here we have them poking fun at America; makes me actually wonder the political alignment of the writers/Valve in general. Rich dem-socs?

lmao i forgot how funny the TF2 comics were

makes me actually wonder the political alignment of the writers/Valve in general. Rich dem-socs?

they're based in what's basically seattle so probably, yeah

He canonically has a PHD in Russian literature so I feel like he’d be a Kropotkin fan or smth

The comics establish Heavy's dad was a counterrevolutionary, except because of the game's timeframe they have to also establish he was a "counterrevolutionary" in 1941

His father was a white soldier; did white-aligned counter revolutionaries even exist in 1941?? Otherwise, there's nothing to suggest he collabed with Nazis. Think the writers fucked up on that one

[–] bigbologna@hexbear.net 14 points 3 days ago

I don't think they intended him to be a collaborator, but it's funny how they got so brainwormed they accidentally implied it

[–] frauddogg@hexbear.net 11 points 3 days ago (2 children)

That was it, thank you-- it'd been years since I last paid attention to the comics, so I couldn't quite remember how that all shook out

In hindsight that might be the same flavor bit as Soldier thinking he's fighting in World War 2 the more I mull it over

[–] GoodGuyWithACat@hexbear.net 11 points 3 days ago

IIRC he fought in France well into the 50s.

That's what I wonder. At the same time, you can never really discount brainworms. Soldier also thinks all of his team are American despite the obviously french, german and russian members lmfao.

and his best friend who speaks with a comically strong scottish accent

[–] 666@lemmygrad.ml 7 points 3 days ago

Demoman my beloved main. For some reason I thought they still hated eachother; must have gotten them mixed up

[–] GoodGuyWithACat@hexbear.net 10 points 3 days ago

It's supposed to be set in 60s-ish setting under the pretense of mercenaries fighting each other for cold war reasons. It's not all that surprising.

all i'm saying is that ukraine might have been marching on moscow over a year ago now if they just recruited kiryu-approaching

[–] CliffordBigRedDog@hexbear.net 15 points 3 days ago (2 children)

yea but russia has this guy

[–] WIIHAPPYFEW@hexbear.net 7 points 3 days ago

The only threat that holds is that he’s teaching some young upstart how to do things his way

[–] EstraDoll@hexbear.net 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

uhhh....

how many energy drinks did kiryu pack? did he learn the tiger drop or did he forget it because it's been a year again?

[–] CliffordBigRedDog@hexbear.net 12 points 3 days ago (1 children)

how would kiryu beat this perfect defensive technique

[–] EstraDoll@hexbear.net 10 points 3 days ago (1 children)
[–] frauddogg@hexbear.net 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Oh god Kiryu's becoming a Mishima

[–] EstraDoll@hexbear.net 6 points 3 days ago

kiryu-starethe-doohickey :shinzo-abe:

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 9 points 3 days ago

He would find out how both countries treat trans people and beat the shit out of everyone

Why don't modern armies use ÜberCharges smh

[–] frauddogg@hexbear.net 10 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

I'm actually more of a kritz kind of medic; always felt like it charged up faster-- that might also be vintage bias tho

It costs $400,000... to fire dis weapon.. for 12 seconds.

That's far too cheap of equipment for modern US military.

[–] sewer_rat_420@hexbear.net 7 points 3 days ago

Why doesnt Hamas just do some reaver drops on israels mineral lines? Transition into carriers while they are building back up and its GG as long as we can keep their goliath counts low

The problem is that weapon damage stats have been buffed to the point where it's game-breaking. Your only hope is pumping up armor class as high as possible and praying that your opponent doesn't roll a 20 or have a really high attack bonus.
