it really fits this era of fascism: vapid but colourful liberal platitudes being painted over with the gray mundanity of hypercapitalist rot

[–] TomBombadil@hexbear.net 5 points 5 hours ago

Mostly it's funny because this could just be a shitty political cartoon but it's real .

[–] Z_Poster365@hexbear.net 21 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

oh no the meaningless virtue signaling is going away!

[–] roux@hexbear.net 1 points 25 minutes ago

"Sorry brown people, we tried everything. We even put words on that wall over there!"

diversity and equality as they murdered a drugged fred hampton next to his pregnant wife

[–] axont@hexbear.net 56 points 18 hours ago

America has fallen our murder agency is painting over the live laugh loves

[–] viva_la_juche@hexbear.net 107 points 19 hours ago (2 children)

If anything this is just showing how performative that shit was lol

[–] godlessworm@hexbear.net 52 points 18 hours ago (2 children)

100% performative and anybody with a spec of brain matter knows the FBI is none of these things, but i still prefer it be up on the wall because i know there are people who get pissed off seeing it.

[–] Z_Poster365@hexbear.net 8 points 13 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago) (1 children)

I don't prefer it because it conflates the fascist empire with LGBTQ+ struggles and poisons it. The further separated they are the better, then things can align correctly into two discrete sides that can engage in struggle instead of one disgusting mess that is stuck in contradictory stasis.

The more we combine progressive ideas with the fascist death state, the more that's going to backfire on us when it comes crashing down

[–] godlessworm@hexbear.net 5 points 13 hours ago

that’s a good point but also mad hogs are funny

[–] ElChapoDeChapo@hexbear.net 15 points 17 hours ago

Yeah I can see both-sides here, on the one hand I don't like them blatantly lying like that but they do that all the time anyway and on the other hand it did serve as a nice little humiliation ritual for the worst boomer chuds

[–] AntifaSuperWombat@hexbear.net 27 points 19 hours ago (2 children)

Could have chosen a better colour though.

[–] ElChapoDeChapo@hexbear.net 31 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago) (1 children)

Couldn't have chosen a better color to represent themselves tho

[–] AntifaSuperWombat@hexbear.net 25 points 19 hours ago

What about white? lmayo

[–] Carl@hexbear.net 14 points 19 hours ago

All government buildings go with the worst, blandest color imaginable.

[–] MaoTheLawn@hexbear.net 9 points 14 hours ago

thought he was at the Tate Modern

[–] Cimbazarov@hexbear.net 53 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Tbf this makes it easier to radicalize liberals since they can't fall on the "the FBI is different now because they believe in principles" excuse, which, I mean, that's what this stupid performative shit was designed for.

[–] Parsani@hexbear.net 48 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago) (3 children)

They'll be back on that beat the second there is a blue man who puts up the nice words again

[–] REgon@hexbear.net 19 points 18 hours ago (3 children)

We say this as if most here weren't berniecrats in '16 and the majority was still electorialist up until he got fucked in the primaries in '20. Tons of users have posted about how they've become more radicalises after X event or year or whatever.
Yeah we shouldn't trust liberals, but pretending like Trump isn't creating circumstances for radicalisation is, at best, silly.

[–] Parsani@hexbear.net 13 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

This is a fair point. I should try to be less pessimistic. The majority will return to brunch, but many will also hopefully reevaluate their politics, like many posters here did.

[–] REgon@hexbear.net 15 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

I like to look at the summer riots of 2020. Sure they got coopted and memoryholed, but it's not like people weren't out in the streets actually doing actual stuff, and since then the general vibe has been much.more antagonistic. Since then we've also had more unionisation efforts. I really think Biden was a more competent ghoul than many here give him credit for. He came in right as things were about to pop off.
A lot of people got good experience with organising and other stuff, and that hasn't been forgotten.

[–] Parsani@hexbear.net 15 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Bidens 2020 campaign was a masterful recuperation of the energy in the streets. And I'm honestly still mad at it, and mad at the liberals who decided that things were fine now.

[–] REgon@hexbear.net 7 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

If you sort by controversial you can find hexbear strugglesessions about Biden being a harm reduction candidate. I also made a post gathering a bunch of those kind of discussions a while ago. Its one of my highest voted posts, if you look at my profile (just telling you this for if you're curious and wanna look about).

[–] Parsani@hexbear.net 7 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

I remember some Biden struggles, but people were so upset about Bernie and interested in the protests that I never thought that was really a serious position. But I generally avoid the struggle threads so idk.

I do remember the podcasts around that time where everyone had to hash out the Correct Position(tm) on voting for Biden lol.

[–] ElChapoDeChapo@hexbear.net 3 points 17 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

I joined right after Biden had already won but I remember seeing the last embers of that struggle session when I got here

[–] ElChapoDeChapo@hexbear.net 7 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

I know but it's hard, maybe I need to logout and try taking a break from being pissed off at liberals

[–] REgon@hexbear.net 7 points 17 hours ago

Being pissed off at liberals is what this place is all about, but we could all do with some grass

[–] DickFuckarelli@hexbear.net 5 points 17 hours ago* (last edited 17 hours ago)

Agreed. For me 2016 lit the flame, and 2020 poured on the gasoline.

Watch the federal space. Now that Elon is X-ifying their liberal 'we love diversity and support the veterans' playground, I think many who were disillusioned under Biden will now have to contend with the thought that maybe it's not the party but the system.

[–] Cimbazarov@hexbear.net 14 points 18 hours ago

right, there's always "one of the good ones"

This is the issue of the liberal conscious. They don't see that its the structures of these institutions are what produce the "bad ones" and they think all that's needed is to put the "good ones" in charge

[–] gramxi@hexbear.net 32 points 18 hours ago

corporate-art is made specifically for these people

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 60 points 20 hours ago

Live. Laugh. Love. Assassinate MLK Jr.

[–] KoboldKomrade@hexbear.net 27 points 18 hours ago

Gilding, but with progressive thoughts instead of gold.

[–] SacredExcrement@hexbear.net 50 points 20 hours ago

Oh no, not the Bureau of entrapment, domestic terrorism, and extrajudicial surveillance!

Anyway

[–] KatGirl@hexbear.net 41 points 19 hours ago

Me when the leftist murder organization is openly being racist (they've been like this since they've existed)

[–] ZWQbpkzl@hexbear.net 24 points 19 hours ago (2 children)

Seriously looks like a highschool.

[–] SoJB@lemmy.ml 12 points 16 hours ago

Imperial high schools have been modeled after prisons for a few decades now - fitting how the model of late-collapse architecture is a bastion of slavery.

I don't know, i don't think it costs millions considering all I see is an organization taking off its faux progressive performing mask.

[–] BodyBySisyphus@hexbear.net 17 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

That looks like maybe a couple dozen words max, their counting is bad

[–] Cammy@hexbear.net 6 points 15 hours ago

Especially since the FBI favors fourteen words.

[–] DragonBallZinn@hexbear.net 17 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

The comment section on TikTok was doomerism-inducing.

Swathes of idiots clapping like seals about how “based” this is.

[–] eldavi@lemmy.ml 15 points 19 hours ago

Tiktok has changed itself to kiss Trump's ring like a codependent person's willingness to comply with their abuser's desires; it's probably best to stay away.
