For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.

No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.

As if he didn't know it was all bullshit.

He knew, he was in on it and now trying to distance himself when it becomes unpopular.

Project 2025? What's that? I've never heard of that and I don't know anything about it!

[–] halcyoncmdr@lemmy.world 52 points 3 days ago (2 children)

On the one hand yeah that entirely possible. On the other hand, Trump clearly suffers from dementia, and he just may not know what the fuck is going on at any given moment and tries to go with it, failing constantly and his staff is failingly trying to cover it all up every time.

[–] HornedMeatBeast@lemmy.world 37 points 3 days ago

He has somewhat been backed into a corner.

Does he:

  • admit that Elon bullshitted him, tricked him, the master negotiator and businessman?
  • admit that he has no idea what is going on?

I think Elon's drop in popularity and recent hate has become too much to keep him around.

He was a useful tool at the time, I don't think the whole DOGE thing was actually there to do good, just to ride Elon's popularity to a win and then shape the government the way they wanted to take advantage and then toss him aside when they achieved their goals.

But also, yes, I believe that Dementia Don's mind is checking out fast.

He's like racist old grandpa who has lost his mind and on autopilot now, mumbling about shit nobody has an idea about... except he is steering the car off the road with all the passengers screaming.

Should have taken his license away years ago.

No. That's giving him far too much credit and giving him a pass for the evil. This isnt the confusion of an old man, it's evil by design. Nobody gets a pass, especially not him.

It was expected that after a good wrecking of services, Musk would be the designated scape goat. Soon the talks about privatization begin.

Musk now has internet-connected backdoored computers installed on multiple government networks that were previously airgapped.

He isn't going to just give up access peacefully.

[–] javiwhite@feddit.uk 16 points 2 days ago

Just do it around 10am. He should be deep in a K hole by that time.

[–] plyth@feddit.org 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

You mean Palantir and China.

He's going to blame it all on Elon

[–] nthavoc 9 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Bingo! Right out of his own "The Art of Unaccountability" playbook.

[–] NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone 42 points 2 days ago (7 children)

That Trump photo is spectacular.

[–] ArchmageAzor@lemmy.world 17 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Every single photo I've seen of Trump has been incredibly unphotogenic. It was to be some concerted effort by the photographers.

[–] Ferretyfever0@lemmy.blahaj.zone 22 points 2 days ago

Or, perhaps, he's just really fucking ugly.

[–] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Like a punch drunk albino raccoon

Musk, on the other hand, looks like somebody grabbed his face from his skull and pulled it JUUUUSSST A LITTLE down and to the left

[–] Smoogs@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago

It catches his whining perfectly

They both do, but the photo chosen for Trump is really something.

Haha, elon is pretending not to be a nazi, because he is a ketamine addict and tramp is pretending not to have anything to do with elon, because everyone hates him.

[–] utopiah@lemmy.world 25 points 2 days ago (1 children)

As much as I'd love to see Musk be on the next rocket, functional or not, to Mars, I also expect Trump to take 0 responsibility for any negative outcome and all credit for any positive downfall regardless of his actual involvement no matter how remote.

[–] LanguageIsCool@lemmy.world 11 points 2 days ago

Like he said that the good parts of the economy are because of him and the bad parts are because of Biden.

[–] GladiusB@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago

Covering up all the money they are siphoning to Elon's businesses. This was never about improvement. It's about securing contracts. We all saw this coming. Elon was supposed leave after he had the contracts secured.

[–] Aceticon@lemmy.dbzer0.com 20 points 2 days ago (1 children)

"There are no silver bullets."

That's the easy most accessible piece of Wisdom in Business there is.

Of course, Trump hasn't actually learned that lesson, because his whole style is to ride the wave and hope for the best, not to actually think about things, before or after, which is why he's so easy to manipulate by others and why you get things like him chickening out so often that there is now the TACO trade.

[–] Bytemeister@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Multiple people who have worked for him describe him as "fucking stupid".

[–] PanArab@lemm.ee 16 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Took him only 4 month and 10 days to realize it

[–] Davin@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It served its purpose, it cut aid to those who needed it and gave money to those who didn't. I think maybe they thought that cutting the social safety nets would have saved more money, but that's all they're going to be upset about.

[–] SoftestSapphic@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

Turns out the real welfare queens were the military and healthcare insurance companies all along.

Also, Elon was able to install some backdoor hacks for foreign leaders with his access to about a dozen of our agencies' systems.

If a regular citizen did that, the FBI would kidnap and torture them.

Cohen said Mango Mussolini will go after Leon's cash. I would not be surprised and hopefully they attack each other.

[–] Smoogs@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago

their egos are so massive they will out each other for election fraud. That is after all what they had on each other all along.

Honeymoon is over.

[–] finitebanjo@lemmy.world 33 points 3 days ago

Yes you dumb asshole, you put an anarchocapitalist (more of an oligopolist but whatever) in a position to fire regulators and IRS staff.

[–] Jimmycrackcrack@lemmy.ml 11 points 2 days ago (2 children)

I wonder sometimes what it's like exactly, being in the Cheeto guy's head because the idea that he and Elon would have a falling out eventually just seemed so utterly predictable to me, some guy, that it's sort of hard wrap my head around how he could fail to see this coming. People will say o shouldn't be surprised, it's not complicated, he's just dumb but like, this isn't like a policy thing, it's not that I'm surprised he didn't expect his ideas to fail it's just this personal relationship was so clearly not to last because of what both these guys are like and I'd have thought this should be obvious to Trump himself from prior experiences with people. It was never going to work where the new friend and political ally views himself as at least an equal, Trump's obviously going to hate that.

I hope all those who voted for him and are getting fucked over by this stupidity are satisfied. Enjoy your misery you clowns!

Sucks for everyone else who saw the obvious idiocy though.

[–] baguettefish@discuss.tchncs.de 19 points 3 days ago (1 children)

He looks so orange, like he played with orange clay and accidentally covered his entire face in it

[–] Blackmist@feddit.uk 20 points 3 days ago (1 children)

He had a meeting with the Saudis the other week. He looks bad normally, but standing next to them in their white clothes, the photographer couldn't fuck with the white balance as much, and he looked absurd, like a fucking Oompa Loompa.

The fact that it stops miles from his hair and eyes as well, like they apply this shit with a stencil and a spray can.

[–] baguettefish@discuss.tchncs.de 12 points 3 days ago

I really hope this is some epic prank from his makeup person that's been going on for years

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 13 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Musk got the data he wanted. Everything else was deflect, deflect, deflect.

[–] Bread@sh.itjust.works 9 points 2 days ago

People noticed and somebody needs to take the fall. That's all.

[–] BigMacHole@lemm.ee 9 points 2 days ago

You mean the Billionaire who's been SUED by his Employees MULTIPLE TIMES and has Kids with Tens of Different Women who did a Nazi Salute TWICE in Public ISNT looking out for the Little Guys like US? BUT he CUT all the Regulators REGULATING Him and gave Himself MASSIVE BILLIONAIRE DOLLAR CONTRACTS! It DOESNT make Sense! That's why a CARING WORKING CLASS CHAMPION would DO!

[–] DeathsEmbrace@lemm.ee 13 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Is he asking about his government or DOGE? We need to make the clear distinction

[–] Aussiemandeus@aussie.zone 19 points 2 days ago

He's just setting Elon up as a fall guy for thr masses

[–] felixwhynot@lemmy.world 13 points 3 days ago
[–] AnalogNotDigital@lemmy.wtf 5 points 2 days ago

No it wasn't he shut down all the investigations into himself and stole a ton of data to give to Russia.

How could that all be bullshit?
