Curious to see the impact of lemmies and what we freaks are up to.

For me, I was in the 0.05% of The National (don’t ask lol) which apparently have 5.9M monthly listeners..

My wife was in 0.05% of Mallrat listeners over 1.8M monthly listeners..

Not to imply direct correlation between the two numbers of course.

Pink Floyd, at ~7,000 minutes. My dad was in the top 0.05% of listeners globally, with a total of ~154,000 minutes. He was in the top 0.005% of Pink Floyd listeners at ~28,000 minutes.

[–] Ringmasterincestuous@aussie.zone 6 points 11 months ago

Holy shit!! Hahha!!! This was what I was hoping for!! Hahah!! Amazing! Ur dad is the man!

[–] Knitwear@lemmy.world 11 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (1 children)

With a mere 243min you can be in the top 2% of Dolly Parton listeners which, tbh, seems low given that she has 16.9M monthly listeners

[–] Ringmasterincestuous@aussie.zone 6 points 11 months ago

Wow.. everyone playing Jolene to the first chorus?

Well this is just for fun and a commute.. not reading anything into it, but that’s right up the drastic tree

[–] Donjuanme@lemmy.world 8 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I like what I like.

[–] Ringmasterincestuous@aussie.zone 3 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Hahah! Love it! You’re an important demographic here on lemmy I would think!

I hope you drive some weird arse distro! 🥰

[–] Donjuanme@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

Dude, with my generic af taste you think I'm rolling anything besides windows 7? (Windows 7 on my main work rig, trying to get I.t. to upgrade it, Windows XP on my backup rig. Legacy systems f.t.(killmeplease)w. At home I rock an Asus and a Dell, Windows 10 and 11.

I'm the most generic cis mid 30s child free white guy you could imagine. (งツ)ว

♥️ To you though! (My wife is finally breaking into Linux for some statistical software for her PhD program, she says I'll enjoy sudo. I do have a steam deck that runs Linux I suppose, so there's that!)

[–] DigitalAudio@sopuli.xyz 6 points 11 months ago (1 children)

0.5% for Weezer, at over 1200 minutes.

Nine Inch Nails. Why yes, I was in high school in the 90s, why do you ask?

[–] FlashZordon@lemmy.world 6 points 11 months ago

Top 0.5% for Paramore at 2,881 mins. New album year really pumped up those numbers lol. pic

[–] SaakoPaahtaa@lemmy.world 6 points 11 months ago (4 children)

How do you guys navigate the UI in such a way you'll actually see anything? On my end the parts have the redundant 20sec intro and then the actual info stays for literally 1 frame before jumping off to the next chapter. Impossible to pause the chapter right at the end.

[–] preludeofme@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (1 children)

Hehe.. very cool! So much new music from this post to check out on my commutes. Going to be a roller coaster of up, downs and I’m not sure what’s! Thanks!!

[–] eighty@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Great post idea! A bit misleading cause she's got range from chill (don't)to upbeat/triumphant tunes (kattekekoyoi) for workouts.

Saved this post to refer later ✌️

[–] Exusia@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I'm in the 0.1% for a guy with 200 monthly listeners. I'm just glad to be part of the crowd.

[–] Ringmasterincestuous@aussie.zone 3 points 11 months ago

That dude appreciates it more than most I’m sure!

[–] DigitalMus@feddit.dk 3 points 11 months ago

0.5% of eluveitie at 1443 minutes, I suppose not too impressive considering 907k monthly listeners. But I'm a varied listener

[–] andyMFK@reddthat.com 3 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Top .05% of bicep listeners. 3.2M monthly listeners.

Based on most of the internet at the moment I'm apart of the 0.05% of people that don't use Spotify.

[–] slazer2au@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

Yellowcard. Saw that one coming.

[–] serpineslair@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (1 children)

Last year I got top 0.01% of Exodus listeners (thrash metal band). 7,031 mins.

Shame, honestly, they're a great band. I recommend Evening Light for anyone new to them.

[–] Ringmasterincestuous@aussie.zone 2 points 11 months ago

[–] Skua@kbin.social 3 points 11 months ago

Oh wow, thanks for the reminder about this band. I had Age of the Understatement on CD and somehow just forgot about them when I switched over to streaming many years ago

[–] Cralder@feddit.nu 2 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Not 0.05% but I was top 0.5% of The Strokes listeners who have 12.6M monthly listeners. Not sure what that number can tell you though

I was top 0.5% for ZZ Top, with just shy of 800 minutes.

[–] Ringmasterincestuous@aussie.zone 2 points 11 months ago (1 children)

This is so interesting. What distro are you running? Tehehe!

I’m not sure what I had in mind but I probably wouldn’t have guessed this one was going to be here.

Makes a bit more sense when I think it through (with my incorrect, limited, one eyed perception of the user demograhic)

[–] dunz@feddit.nu 2 points 11 months ago

Right now Ubuntu... but I ran Arch(btw) for 10 years before that, and various before that, for 10 years. I just happen to enjoy classic rock... but I listen to a lot of different things. Mostly different forms of metal, but quite a lot of electronica and classical music as well My top genre was stoner metal, I listened to 3298 different artists, and 140 different genres. Like 61k minutes or something :D
