I don't really know much about him except that everyone seems to hate him too.

Unrelated ramble: This election reminds me of the leadup to the election that Ventura won in Minnesota with 2 guys everyone hated leaving it ripe for a weird third party to win. I don't suspect RFK could pull it off, because I think Ventura's celebrity and centrism was an important part of that formula.

No he's a conspiracy theorist on vaccines, a diehard zionist, a transphobe, and anti-abortion

[–] corgiwithalaptop@hexbear.net 19 points 6 months ago

Listening to him ramble about covid I am inclined to believe that no, he is not

[–] 420stalin69@hexbear.net 16 points 6 months ago

Nah. He’s a reactionary conspiracist conservative.

He’s like Josh Hawley in my mind in that he hates the deep state and opposes neoliberalism so sometimes he will say something against those things that I agree with since I’m also against those things.

But having a shared thing you’re against doesn’t mean you are both for the same thing. What those types are for is antithetical to me. They want some kind of theocratic patriarchy, they oppose social welfare, they view medicine as a conspiracy, they the idea of individual rights if those rights give power to anyone who doesn’t fit their narrow mould, etc

[–] EmmaGoldman@hexbear.net 14 points 6 months ago

No, lol. There's a legitimate argument to be made that he's worse. At least the other two wouldn't try to ban medicine.

I love whenever Jesse Ventura comes up ngl

Minnesota has had much worse governors, I'll just say that

[–] Dessa@hexbear.net 4 points 6 months ago (1 children)

He wasn't too bad. Not to great, but not too bad.

Walz has been fantastic

[–] YearOfTheCommieDesktop@hexbear.net 3 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

Fantastic is a very strong word but about as good as can be expected for a democrat yeah

The uber/lyft minimum wage bill and carving out the Mayo Clinic from the hospital staffing bill both rankled me as extremely blatant examples of caving to corporate demands at the first sign of pushback, and worse, the uber/lyft set the precedent for Frey in Minneapolis to do the same thing, proving that uber can just extort the whole state and is effectively above the law.

Radio Free Kennedy? Likely cia funded

[–] RyanGosling@hexbear.net 9 points 6 months ago

No. A genocidal freak like the rest of them.

If they are in federal politics, it’s over. At best you’ll get some ghouls who feel enough remorse to spill the beans about how the world works, but not enough to actually distance themselves from the sector.

afroman is the jesse ventura of this election

[–] Dessa@hexbear.net 2 points 6 months ago

With RFK and No Labels in the mix, you know, Maybe Afroman is viable. Not like voting is making much of a difference anyhow. I have a feeling shit is gonna get really weird

[–] GayTuckerCarlson@hexbear.net 4 points 6 months ago

At his best he's a lib, at his worse he's an outright reactionary. Between Trump, Brandon, and Kennedy if you are planning on voting Brandon is the best of the three

[–] Alaskaball@hexbear.net 3 points 6 months ago

No, what the other people said.

The only thing that could be concidered a progressive move in this regard would be the fact that he would be the first break in American political tradition since George Washington to not be from one of the political party duopolies and presents to the American people physical proof that it is possible to even elect a president without the backing of the entrenched political aristocracy.

Is that enough to counterbalance all the other shit wrong with him? No lol. The only good thing about the duds is that he's a brainwormed boomer voter magnet and can act as a spoiler for either candidate and could possibly snatch the crown of victory from whichever candidate he doesn't like more. He's an entertaining wildcard in a cardgame full of jokers

[–] Fishroot@hexbear.net 3 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago) (1 children)

no

He also said that MLK getting harrass by the FBI is justified because they weren't able to find anything on him with all the harassments (prooving his innocence) and this is because the system is working as intended so it's good

[–] Dessa@hexbear.net 1 points 6 months ago

God damn, this guy is nuts

I also have strong feeling against political dynasties. Ventura shilling for him is probably either being paid or his pretty strong feelings on JFK's assassination being a cover up. Again dynasites suck. I have some respect for Ventura, but that guy in his later years is a leaf blowing in the wind on who or what he attaches to. He already had good enough shot aaginst the establishment. His wife has medical needs. Boy gotta eat.

What the is up with him and the NFL? Dynasties.

Robert F Kennedy Jr apologizes for Super Bowl ad that referenced JFK - TV spot by pro-Kennedy political action committee drew sharp criticisms from members of late president’s family

I’m so sorry if the Super Bowl advertisement caused anyone in my family pain,” Kennedy wrote on social media late on Sunday. He said the ad was created by American Values 2024, a pro-Kennedy political action committee (Pac), “without any involvement or approval” from his presidential campaign.

Nonetheless, the commercial remained pinned to the top of his X page, directly above his apology.

American Values PAC

American Values 2024 (AV24) is a super PAC committed to educating and mobilizing voters to elect candidates who will restore and protect the soul of democracy in the United States. Today, AV24 supports Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.’s presidential campaign.

Our long-term vision is to build a movement starting at the local level to create a national groundswell that will address the critical issues our country faces. AV24 is co-founded by Mark Gorton (CEO of Tower Research Capital) and Tony Lyons (President of Skyhorse Publishing).

Even if a third party candidate won the popular vote, it would be nearly impossible to win the electoral college. If RFK wins any states, it will be unlikely that anyone gets to 270, and then the house picks the president and senate picks VP.

"our candidates were so unpopular, we had to choose the president ourselves" is peak america.
