Android is only better if you're using a open-source distribution (ideally a security-focused one) and stick to open-source software, otherwise it's still proprietary spyware

If you have anything Google related on your phone, the feds can see that. Google literally trained their AI on people's Google Docs and shit

Locally saved Microsoft Word files is about as bog standard for the average consumer as you can get. Just don’t connect the service to outlook for “Cloud transfer”. That’s how Google sees your Google docs too.

Yeah but you still get spied on by the NSA either way cause Android belongs to Google and Google is just as deep in bed with the intelligence agencies and the security state as Apple is. This is like saying that getting stabbed is better than getting shot. Sure one is marginally more preferable to the other but both kinda suck. The reason why you pick Android over Apple is just to avoid being stuck in the proprietary hellscape of Apple. You don't have to deal with bullshit like Apple only apps, Apple only hardware, etc.

It is a little bit of clickbait, but he actually says that you need to use Graphene OS to be more secure, and that Android with Google is basically the same as Apple.

I'm only an Apple user when it comes to my cell phone, and I prefer Apple after over a decade with Android. I hope to switch to Huawei or whatever when I move to China.
