Vedder sounds like he's doing a bad impression of Cobain, who had that sort of low grumble to his voice but it was more subtle and natural and you could feel it was coming from a place of genuine pain. but with Vedder it just feels like an affect he's putting on because he think it sounds cool. that phony grunge voice became so trendy and got even worse with post-grunge bands like Creed and Nickelback. Pearl Jam sucks but Creed makes Pearl Jam sound like Nirvana

Them! (1954) haven't seen it but it's about giant 🐜
also The Host (2006)
well 3 of those are from Grimes, one of the dumbest people to ever live. I think he generally seeks out women who are incredibly poor judges of character
I watch pretty much all foreign media with subs but one thing I don't like how it steals your natural gaze, instead of your eye being directed by the visuals you are having to constantly look back at the bottom of the screen. also makes it hard to eat while watching
dubs are fine in theory (for animation, not so much for live-action) as long as they're done well but they're not usually done well
yeah I really like how it complements the more dominant blue of the horizon
I'm imagining it's red because it's a communism planet, like a small glimmer of hope amidst the cold darkness of space. it looks small and insignificant from here but is in fact a thriving society full of life
this is pretty sick. love the one red star (or planet i guess?) that's a nice touch
the rock n' roll business is essentially a sex trafficking operation
it shouldn't even be notable, but there is something to be said about how there's been no accusations of the Beatles taking advantage of their fans, especially considering their initial fan base was primarily teenage girls. they were actually super uncomfortable with that and quickly distanced themselves from the teeny bopper crowd and pivoted to a more adult sound
🎵 come together, right now... over me 🎵
I'm surprised this hasn't happened yet, it would practically print money. You don't even need to make a trailer, just say "Margot Robbie kisses a woman in this movie" and it will make $200 million opening weekend, guaranteed.
people are going to romanticize abuse
I'm curious about the degree to which their relationship will be portrayed as an abusive one in this movie. I don't think it will be one where Joker is controlling Harley like in the animated series, it'll be more about Harley becoming unhealthily obsessed with Joker. He's a mentally ill prisoner and she's a therapist at the prison who's supposed to help him, so pursuing a relationship is obviously a major ethical violation on her part. So maybe she will be the more controlling manipulative one in the relationship, or perhaps it will be mutually abusive - but definitely not healthy regardless.
fuck I just realized Kyle Gass' birthday wish officially didn't come true :(
