Sure, let us hear what the war criminal has to say. What a horror show

[–] Deello@lemm.ee 61 points 5 months ago (3 children)

Carlson gave Putin a platform. I see a trend forming.

[–] disguy_ovahea@lemmy.world 60 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago) (1 children)

Carlson’s interview was the worst propaganda piece I’ve seen from the right yet. He fanboyed so hard, he didn’t even realize that he agreed with Putin’s assertion that eastern Poland belonged to Russia. Putin himself called the interview a disappointment due to Tucker’s lack of challenging questions.

Then he goes and gushes over a “Russian” grocery store that was actually a French chain in Russia. He first jabbed at the homeless when he encountered a coin operated shopping cart. At the end, he boasted about how he easily bought groceries at such a low cost compared to the US, neglecting to realize that he spent 20% of a Russian’s monthly income on a week’s worth of food.

It was an embarrassment.

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 28 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

He realized.

He just knows his viewers are morons.

Tucker Carlson is not stupid. He's malicious and servile, the Wormtongue of the right, never forget it.

Little shit-dick boys won't quit being crybabies sticking their dicks in shit?

…in a country that houses multiple war criminals, even as presidents.

So, it's totally on brand.

[–] ZombiFrancis@sh.itjust.works 4 points 5 months ago

I think Miami or just Florida as a whole has the highest concentration of deposed dictators in the world.

[–] cupcakezealot@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 5 months ago (2 children)

let republicans expose themselves as pro war war mongers in an election year.

[–] OutlierBlue@lemmy.ca 4 points 5 months ago

They've exposed themselves as war mongers for decades and it hasn't harmed them at all. What makes you think it'll be different this year?

[–] dragThruGardenPlz@midwest.social 3 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Pretty sure everyone knows the GOP has been war hungry since forever. The larger problem is many Dems are also in that camp. The military is big business and neither party has motivation to change that because they enjoy the money

[–] cupcakezealot@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 5 months ago

yeah but they also tried to play themselves off as opposing wars during the trump years

Oh wow.. you saw an opportunity to also burn Boeing and their shit practices in there.. well played.

[–] Nutteman@lemmy.world 18 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Boeing has shit practices? I just wanted him to have a safe flight in a wonderful and well-maintained American Boeing aircraft. Nothing else. Not at all. Nuh uh.

[–] CosmicTurtle0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Actually I heard that Netanyahu has some details about the maintenance practices of Boeing planes.

[–] bamboo@lemm.ee 3 points 5 months ago

Yeah, something about expediting QA and shipping faulty parts…

[–] Zedstrian@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago) (1 children)

After taking a Bell 212 helicopter to the airport.

[–] Nutteman@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago

Can we get Harrison Ford as pilot? Love the man, but he keeps crashing his planes so it just seems like a good match.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 68 points 5 months ago (2 children)

I don't think you guys can suck Israel's cock any harder just by inviting him over.

[–] QuarterSwede@lemmy.world 7 points 5 months ago
[–] pop@lemmy.ml 4 points 5 months ago

There are a lot of war criminals there to keep him company though.

“Tonight, I’m happy to announce something else to you: that we will soon be hosting Prime Minister Netanyahu at the Capitol for a joint session of Congress,” Johnson said in a speech marking Israel’s independence, hosted by the Israeli Embassy.

“This will be a timely and, I think, a very strong show of support to the Israeli government in their time of greatest need,” he added.

And a show of hostility towards the tens of thousands of civilians Israel has already killed, and the millions more who are currently being starved and bombed by Israel's genocidal actions.

I say we call netanyahu antisemitic. He is doing such a shit job that it's bringing down the country's entire standing.

[–] saltesc@lemmy.world 5 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

Ackchyually, he technically is. Semites, though now a defunct term, applied to any people that spoke a Semitic language.Arabs, Phoenicians, Jews, etc. It's only after WW2 people erroneously assumed it meant just Jewish people—due to certain events at the time—and the term remained alive and evolved that way.

So in a traditional sense, Little Ben is becoming his own Little Hitler.

[–] ragica@lemmy.ml 41 points 5 months ago

International war criminal to come get pats on the back says unconditional supporter of domestic insurrectionist and life-long criminal.

[–] kandoh@reddthat.com 30 points 5 months ago (1 children)

No one's done more damage to Israel than Bibi

[–] Plopp@lemmy.world 3 points 5 months ago

😲 Arrest this antisemite!! //Bibi

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 29 points 5 months ago (1 children)

The republiQans are inviting him over, eh?

Just like last time.

And again, dead silence from the ‘biden genocide’ trollwaffen

[–] ME5SENGER_24@lemmy.world 21 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Any more of those Bell 212 helicopters laying around to transport him around; preferably close to a mountain range?

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 7 points 5 months ago

Made in the U.S.A.!

[–] ZombiFrancis@sh.itjust.works 21 points 5 months ago (1 children)

So fucked it is even happening but at least we should get a good picture over which members of Congress are devotees to a foreign power so we can never vote for them again.

[–] anticolonialist@lemmy.world 5 points 5 months ago

They are easy to spot, look for an (D- ) or an (R- ) behind their name.

I mean, Biden could choose to arrest him when he steps foot in the US, in accordance with international law, but he's too busy enabling him, so on this issue, unfortunately, they're not that different.

On most other issues: sure they're different, but Biden really is doing everything he can to turn off decent people that oppose genocide.

[–] Blackbeard@lemmy.world -5 points 5 months ago (1 children)

The world you guys live in must be a really wild place.

[–] trevor@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 5 months ago (1 children)

The one in which international laws exist and the country that claims to abide by a "rules-based international order" actually follows through on that? Yeah, dude. It's craaaazy.

[–] Blackbeard@lemmy.world 0 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago) (1 children)

Never thought I'd see the day when this would become a satire about the left...

[–] cupcakezealot@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 points 5 months ago

hope the majority of congress critters don't show up.

Congress should have a theme for this. "Warcrime Wednesdays"?

[–] tortillaPeanuts@lemmy.world 8 points 5 months ago

I'm looking forward to it. It could really give some insight into what the plan is for after the Rafah offensive. I hope some lawmakers are brave enough to ask tough questions about the ending of the war.

[–] alquicksilver@lemmy.world 8 points 5 months ago

If I had the time/money to get myself to DC when he's there, I'd deck myself out in all my Magen David jewelry and a big fat "fuck you, Bibi" sign.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

WASHINGTON — House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., announced Thursday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will address a joint session of Congress.

Johnson told reporters Wednesday that he was working with Netanyahu on a date and would be sending the formal invitation this week.

Johnson made the announcement in his keynote address for the Israeli Embassy event, which took place at the National Building Museum.

Several other lawmakers attended the program, and House Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar of California also spoke.

Earlier in March, Schumer delivered a fiery speech blasting Netanyahu, saying he had "lost his way" and calling for new elections in Israel.

President Joe Biden later praised Schumer's speech, saying "expressed a serious concern, shared not only by him but by many Americans."
