Child predator as attorney general, man who eats roadkill and had a worm turn what was left of his brain into a block of swiss cheese as HHS head...

Linda McMahon as the likely pick for Commerce Secretary lmao

Wife to Vince McMahon, also known as the former WWE head, who herself served a big role within that org for decades. Vince had to step down due to being a sex pest

Also I didn't know this

[Vince] McMahon later resigned from TKO in January 2024 after allegations of sex trafficking and sexual assault. [Vince] McMahon is currently under a federal probe.

ed. changed 'Husband' to 'Wife', god I'm tired

This is the guy who’s gonna lead the Trump administration’s response to H5N1

[–] sharkfucker420@lemmy.ml 63 points 2 days ago (1 children)

This would all be funny if it weren't for the fact that I live here

EVERY DAY IS A NEW NIGHTMARE no-i-in-pezza

[–] BodyBySisyphus@hexbear.net 54 points 2 days ago (5 children)

Kennedy was later seen carrying a book titled "To Serve Humans."

[–] GarbageShoot@hexbear.net 25 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I'm going to do the reddit thing and say the title was ackshually "To Serve Man", but the reason I mention it is that the pun works much better with the uncountable noun "Man" than the countable plural "Humans", because it's more like how we speak of most types of meat, as an anonymous, indifferent material (lamb, beef, pork, chicken), and I think that's kind of interesting.

[–] BodyBySisyphus@hexbear.net 16 points 2 days ago

I was attempting to riff on the name of "Health and Human Services" but "human" probably still would've worked better than "Humans"

[–] bigbrowncommie69@hexbear.net 11 points 2 days ago

Legit, exactly what it sounds like

confirmation processes will test the loyalty of Senate Republicans.

Not to worry, I'm sure they'll pass with flying colors.

Stock up on antidepressants. He will go for them.

[–] BurgerPunk@hexbear.net 4 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

What is it with these RFK style "health" freaks and being against antidepressants? Its like the one thing enabling probably millions at this point to cope with the effects of capitalism. Exercise and organic produce is not a cure all

[–] kleeon@hexbear.net 31 points 2 days ago (1 children)

he will put brain worm eggs in the water

[–] SpiderFarmer@hexbear.net 6 points 2 days ago

Too much work. Just slash all the funding at the water and wastewater treatment plants.

[–] BobDole@hexbear.net 34 points 2 days ago (1 children)

He’s going to send out pills to every American to take containing brain worm eggs.

I give him a week at most before he tries to ban diet coke and Trump cans him

[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 2 points 1 day ago

It's funny how predictions about Trump - no matter how ridiculous or how jokey - could come to pass.

---

"We will ban Diet Coke due to the presence of globalistides..."

A few hours later angry Trump bellows "RFK Jr. says Diet Coke has globalistides and globalistides are bad. Globalistides? Nobody knows what that is. Even doctors. 'What?' they say. Nobody knows. And I love Diet Coke. RFK Jr. is out. I fired him. Dr. Phil's gonna head the Department of Health..." Trump has a confused look on his face. "The Department of Health... and the Other Stuff."

Chris Hayes post

RFK announcement puts a fine point on something I've been trying to articulate and is a theme of the Trump years. It's something I've wrestled with and that a lot of Dem messaging has gotten wrong. Part of what Trump does is constantly divide the country along the lines of pro-system and anti-system.

And because Trump is such wrecking ball, you end up in this defensive posture of pro-system, pro-status quo. HHS/FDA is a great example.

Of COURSE the US food and drug system is captured and bad in a million different ways: from nutritional recommendations, which are often laughably wrong or corrupted to our outrageous regime of drug patenting etc.

Oh yeah, only Trump does that.🙄

Put the Ancient Apocalypse guy in for Department of Education. Rogan is press secretary of course.

[–] HumongousChungus@hexbear.net 15 points 2 days ago

God, that Graham Hancock guy would have an absolute blast purging the archaeologists. I never did figure out what he thinks they did to him. I feel like fewer archaeologists hated him before he started complaining about the Deep Archaeology State like it's a pack of wild Mayor Petes coming after his dog.

lets-fucking-go oh yeah lets do this speedrun baybee

only plus side is maybe stuff like kratom can be protected from scheduling a bit longer? he seems like he might be down with "natural" opioid "cures"

especially since Pelosi likely is on the way out and her kid is basically the director of the kratom lobby group

but then again he might push hard to get rid of it because he had an addiction so idk

[–] sewer_rat_420@hexbear.net 5 points 2 days ago

He claims to be pro psychedelic as well

My ass is learning how to fluoridate my own water if that goes. Not because I think it does anything, but because I don’t want to hand the altmed types a w they’ve been thirsting for longer than I’ve been alive

[–] Abracadaniel@hexbear.net 19 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

theyd be getting their win regardless of whether or not you flouridate your own water.

[–] M68040@hexbear.net 13 points 2 days ago

But I can make it immensely more frustrating for at least one person involved
