This is not beautiful data.

[–] jaypatelani@lemmy.ml 4 points 2 days ago

Not from Russian and north Korean perspective

[–] BigMacHole@lemm.ee 70 points 3 days ago (1 children)

But Trump told me he didn't know what Project 2025 was and DEFINITELY wouldn't Implement it!

[–] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 22 points 3 days ago (1 children)

To be fair, his brain is such mush, that he probably doesn't. It's his ~~puppeteers~~ handlers that know.

:lightbulb:

If we gave the Project 2025 crew Jira, it cpuld drag the entire operation to a halt.

Atlassian, your hour of need is at hand. It's time to Save Democracy! Let us send wave after wave of Scrum Coaches to chase down Musk toadies and demand they play Scheduling Poker before defunding the VA. Do they even have a Definition of Done for conquering Canada?

If there's one thing conservatives love, it's pointless ceremonies.

The republic is so unbelievably done.

Next mid terms the right will sweep the elections with Belarus-levels of fraud, in 4 years there'll be an amendment to officiate the thousand-years reich.

In 10 years -- world war 3.

[–] coaxil@lemm.ee 29 points 3 days ago (4 children)

That long for a world war you think?

[–] MY_ANUS_IS_BLEEDING@lemm.ee 35 points 3 days ago (2 children)

After the US has thrown Ukraine under the bus and carved it up with Russia, there will be a few quiet years as Europe arms itself and Russia re-arms. Then WW3 will kick off. Fuck knows which side the US will be on.

If Trump manages to remove all non loyal officers, an invasion of Canada, Mexico, and Greenland is in the cards over the next two or three years even.

The chance of the US military fracturing and a resulting civil war is non zero, if the purge of anti MAGA officers fails. California on its own has major bases for the navy, air force, and marines.

An American civil war would leave the US unable to respond strongly to a Chinese invasion of Taiwan. China could use that opportunity to take the whole first island chain even.

I don't think so. I want to believe that they're doing so much wanton destruction to the federal government's administrative capacity that we'll simply (and peacefully) balkanize into a more EU style trade confederation of economically interdependent but legislatively independent nations. If I had to guess causes for a hot shattering of the federation, it'd probably be starting shit in Canada. Nobody but these fucking assholes want to start shit with Canada, and I could see it as an opportunity for regions interested in independence to put out feelers for international recognition and support (and potentially getting it). Under previous administrations, it would have been night impossible, but tweedle dee and tweedle dumb are also taking a huge shit all over the intelligence agencies that would have squashed such movements previously.

[–] DanVctr@sh.itjust.works 6 points 2 days ago

We've always been at war with Eurasia

[–] And009@lemmynsfw.com 8 points 3 days ago

It has already begun in that sense

[–] SkaveRat@discuss.tchncs.de 9 points 2 days ago

In 10 years

I like your optimism.

Note that the current situation was done in just a single month

[–] DrDeadCrash@programming.dev 13 points 3 days ago

Do you really think Trump will wait that long? I think we might be on an accelerated timeline.

I wonder what kind of long term damage this will do to the US, why the fuck did shit like this have to happen in my lifetime.

[–] HungLikeAHoers2010@lemmy.ca 86 points 3 days ago (7 children)

Because not enough Americans voted against Trump. It's entirely their fault.

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 59 points 3 days ago (3 children)

No, no. "The non-fascist candidate wasn't exciting enough! It's the Democrats' fault I stayed home while my country burned."

[–] HungLikeAHoers2010@lemmy.ca 42 points 3 days ago (1 children)

People like those who claim they're leftists are FAKE leftists as far as I'm concerned. They had a choice between Coca-Cola and hydrochloric acid, but didn't vote for Coca-Cola because they wanted natural spring water. Any real leftist would vote for the lesser of two evils if placed in that situation.

[–] FinnFooted@lemmy.world 27 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

Those specific types of leftists want accelerationism the us. They will encourage you not to vote even. They want trump because they think that Trump will crash the government and the US will either be crippled and unable to exert imperialism or the people will become so disenfranchised they'll experience class consciousness and there will be a glorious socialist revolution. What they don't realize is that companies will gobble up power and the US will become corporate feudalism that's even more awful on the global stage and few citizens will fight back as long as they feel personally safe and can eat.

Not entirely. Remember, even if 2 to 4 million more people vote for Democrats you can still get a Repulican in the US due to their voting system favouring land over people. It never really was a true democracy, they always needed 55-60% of actual votes for the lesser evil to actually get the lesser of the two evil.

[–] djsoren19@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 3 days ago

This is such a gross oversimplification, and the fact it keeps getting repeated is the reason I have no faith in the American people getting out of this. This coup has been in the making for decades, but everyone points to the last 5 minutes as the key point we fucked up.

US soft power is gone now. The sheer treachery displayed in this Ukraine move has completely lost the trust of all of its allies. There's no way anyone can afford to rely on them for anything now.

You'll probably see the BRICS countries ditching the dollar for their own currency within a few years. With USAID gone basically the entire global South will be looking towards China as well.

Once oil stops being sold in dollars and the dollar stops being a reserve currency, you'll probably start seeing hyperinflation and deficits and debts actually mattering a lot more than they currently do.

[–] ShotDonkey@lemmy.world 14 points 3 days ago

And what has always, in all history, been the most effective metod to deflect from incompetence and one's own corruption? Yes. It will still be a military superpower by then. I hope I am wrong and that the people in the US act swiftly.

[–] TheBat@lemmy.world 19 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I'm fully expecting American civil war in near future.

I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo. "So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.

Excellent website. Scary data source.

It's like "Collapse of Western Civilization, 38% complete"

[–] PonyOfWar@pawb.social 63 points 3 days ago

Data is terrifying

[–] treadful@lemmy.zip 104 points 3 days ago (3 children)

I guess beauty is subjective.

[–] M137@lemmy.world 15 points 3 days ago

The content and topic of the data don't affect if it's well presented. You can hate what it's about and still appreciate the design of how it's presented.

[–] PyroNeurosis@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 points 3 days ago

The beauty here is the clean presentation and directness. Like a guillotine- everything you need to do the job, nothing you don't.

I hate that this HAS to exists, this is basically an anxiety tracker. For Herr Trump to deny that he has had anything to do with this, its sure progressing at a steady rate.

[–] IndiBrony@lemmy.world 54 points 3 days ago (1 children)

**Frau Trump

Don't forget: everyone in America is a woman now by her own executive order 👍

So they developed some kind of progress bar, that allows the whole world to track the USAs way to fascism? Interesting choice

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 18 points 3 days ago

If that were the case it would be at 96%

[–] Birch@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

That is both informative and incredibly chilling.

I actually hadnt had an overview of the scope of Project 2025 until now. But reading this, it seems they thought of "what would a decent, sane and moral person do?" and then plan on doing the exact opposite.

[–] hendrik@palaver.p3x.de 20 points 3 days ago

And now do egg price.

[–] Philharmonic3@lemmy.world 22 points 3 days ago (1 children)

It's time to start fighting for real. Fuck this diplomacy bullshit

[–] obinice@lemmy.world 15 points 3 days ago

Commander, the Americans continue to make progress on the Avatar project. ... If we're going to slow them down, we need to move fast.
