This wasn’t even a reply to anything. Dude just woke up one day and was like hmmm you know what? I think people need to hear my hot take on the genocide of Native Americans

[–] Kuori@hexbear.net 28 points 3 weeks ago

whomst amongst us has not woken up on the wrong side of the bed and written multiple posts justifying genocide?

it's an honest oopsie!

I feel like showing up to this nerd's house and saying "I need your land" at gunpoint. I'm sure he'll understand.

"A lot of the land they weren't even really using that often"

The global South needs to arm up with the deadliest weapons because there are entire countries of people who think like this.

"Your backyard is unproductive how-compelling-flipped . Please give it up for the people "

I just needed money so I had to take your wallet bro I'm sorry you don't have it anymore but I needed it bro. Sure you'll understand.

People like this are why the global South need MAD weapons; I hate that I share the same planet with people like this.

You all don't have a leg to stand on. Further down the thread he asked ChatGPT and it agreed with his view.

[–] Kuori@hexbear.net 22 points 3 weeks ago

oooaaaaaaauhhh we are undone

[–] DragonBallZinn@hexbear.net 7 points 3 weeks ago

asked ChatGPT

These idiots are allergic to thinking for themselves lmao.

There's nothing new about this opinion. Terra nullis has been a thing for like 500 years now. Ultimate techbro move to just try to invent what's already really old.

"Granted, the Holocaust shouldn’t have happened, but the Generalplan Ost, even though it could have been handled better, was necessary to provide us with the Lebenraum we needed."

[–] MarxusMaximus@hexbear.net 21 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

I got curious and looked up this guy's Twitter feed and he tweets hundreds and hundreds of times per day and seems to post random tirades and rants constantly. It has nothing to do with his evil post about lebensraum but some of these tweets look like calls for help from an unwell person. He just tweeted a story about a juggler who teaches a class for autistic people and then spent a few hours seemingly arguing with himself about whether or not he's autistic.

cw: insults towards neurodivergent people

This is a person that would directly immediately benefit from a universal social media ban

[–] Hestia@hexbear.net 20 points 3 weeks ago

My "I'm not autistic" T-shirt has people asking questions already answered by my T-shirt. (I have trouble expressing my emotions so I often use T-shirts to portray my feelings)

Look at this fucking barbarous savage.

If those pilgrims really "needed the land" they could have just arrived as immigrants to the indigenous country they landed in and integrated peacefully.

Instead they chose genocide and dispossession like the selfish primates they were.

[–] Evilsandwichman@hexbear.net 17 points 3 weeks ago

Honestly this.

The genocide of the peoples of North America didn't happen just because they 'needed land' (they had plenty back home; they went to the Americas because capitalism); additionally there were native Americans who unfortunately tried to work with the colonizers and changed everything about themselves to be considered acceptable (they converted to Christianity, dressed like the colonizers, changed their names and even changed their homes; they also unfortunately aided in the killing of other tribes), but when all was said and done, the colonizers once comfortable, decided they wanted the land those people were living on as well and went on to kill them too.

Also 'go West young man, go West' isn't a slogan you use when you 'need land'. Additionally they 'needed lands' from the Canadians too; they got their butts kicked and sent home. How did the failure to capture those lands end up ravaging them because they couldn't meet their need for land? It's almost like the colonizing murderers didn't need the land so much as they just wanted it, and wanted it to grow their wealth. Also anyone seriously using the excuse 'they weren't really using it' (to not only justify land theft, but to gloss over genocide) should catch a bat with his teeth.

[–] shallot@hexbear.net 16 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

This has to be a bit. Please.

[–] Evilsandwichman@hexbear.net 24 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I wish; Ayn Rand has literally said the same thing but more viciously.

[–] shallot@hexbear.net 15 points 3 weeks ago

If they really needed the land, they’d have been steel magnates in the first place.

[–] Frogmanfromlake@hexbear.net 15 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

At least he acknowledges a targeted genocide and doesn’t just go “disease killed them all.” A way too common take I see.

[–] RoabeArt@hexbear.net 20 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Other dogshit takes I sometimes come across: "they aren't really native anyway because they also came here and stole this land at one point" and "they were killing each other long before we got here so what we did was okay."

You know, because migration and settling that happen on their own, and even inter-tribal warfare, are totally the same as industrialized, state-sanctioned colonization and genocide.
