Capitalist bootlickers know nothing about how planned economies can work, do they?

Also love the casual racism.

"HoW aRe ThE GoInG To PaY ThEm?!"

In case anyone wants the actual answer, they nationalised all the gold and uranium mines. Which is like... A metric shitload of money that was previously just going to french companies and their shareholders.

I wonder what will happen when the US can no longer afford to fund chaos in these countries?

[–] SoyViking@hexbear.net 28 points 1 week ago (3 children)

The virgin government cheese vs the chad government cheeseburgers.

[–] jack@hexbear.net 14 points 1 week ago

We've been seeing a retraction in that since late Trump/early Biden.

Since when has owning more stuff meant you were fucked?

[–] CloutAtlas@hexbear.net 32 points 1 week ago

Some of them assume the corrupt government is just pocketing it. Just gonna be waddling around and about with several hundred kilograms of gold in their pockets.

They believed Gaddafi had a secret hoard of gold

[–] Le_Wokisme@hexbear.net 26 points 1 week ago (1 children)

perhaps they mean that the west will not leave Burkina Faso alone

[–] Sickos@hexbear.net 8 points 1 week ago

Yeah they're fighting coups off every four months or so

[–] Tomorrow_Farewell@hexbear.net 36 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Do those chuds not realise that states have other sources of revenue?

[–] Damarcusart@hexbear.net 39 points 1 week ago (2 children)

CHUDs generally don't have a great grasp of economics.

[–] Alisu@hexbear.net 17 points 1 week ago (1 children)

They think the government is like a household. If you spend too much you won't be able to pay your bills

This is literally it. They take financial advice from dudebros on tiktok or facebook telling you to grind hard and buckle down, then extrapolate that to the state.

[–] DragonBallZinn@hexbear.net 12 points 1 week ago

How can that be? Middle school told them that commie bad and capitalism is freedom! That’s all the economics anyone needs to know!

[–] sweatersocialist@hexbear.net 33 points 1 week ago (2 children)

so the government “taking all the mines” to pay for school is bad but private capitalists taking all the mines to pay for pedophile islands and racism is good?

[–] DragonBallZinn@hexbear.net 22 points 1 week ago

smuglord: “oh kiddo, don’t you understand that good is the real bad and bad is the real good? The only real sin in the world is violating the property rights of rich people! You’ll understand when you’re older, kid!”

"Those hard working Job Creators earned that money and can spend it on whatever they want, to suggest otherwise would be authoritarian you silly tankie."

[–] Hestia@hexbear.net 32 points 1 week ago

I for one would accept goats and chicken as a form of payment.

My man is emulating Thomas Sankara, not only in public policy, but in having some wild ass drip

[–] merthyr1831@lemmy.ml 3 points 5 days ago

The only thing he isn't emulating is the being assassinated part (god willing)

Is there somewhere I can go to learn more about Burkina Faso? I've been seeing a good amount of posts about them, but know relatively little about the government or Traore.

[–] tombruzzo@hexbear.net 4 points 1 week ago

A lot of Burkina Faso's basedness came from former leader Thomas Sankara. He was a pretty respected leftist figure because of his speeches. Learning about him is a good jumping off point.
