Why is it being "peaceful" a good thing if you believe they're literal Nazis? Were the allies wrong to take military action in WWII? The Trump government is doing actual, physical, direct violence to the most vulnerable people in America and you're glad that people have come up with something that makes them feel like they're "fighting back" without causing even the most depraved of their stormtroopers even a moment's inconvenience. They don't even need to ACKNOWLEDGE this. It's the most pathetic, toothless thing imaginable.

Now personally I recognise that peaceful "protest" that doesn't even cause minor inconvenience to your target is pointless. Worse than pointless - it makes people feel like they've achieved something when what they've done is something that trump et al. can simply ignore with zero repercussions. If you're trying to change things, what's the point of taking an action that won't l, and can't, cause any change? God, you would have loved Neville Chamberlain.

It's like the Agent Krasnov thing. If they truly believed that, they would be running mueller time style headlines daily.

for example Syria managed to get partial sanctions relief by simply calling him a "God sent man of peace".

They got that because their leader is a religious extremist asset of the CIA and west who is acting in their favor, in their name, in their interests and deposed Assad and is kissing the ring of the west and their wants. That's what matters. He's not perhaps their first choice but they want to reward that kind of behavior and prostration he's shown, give him some treats and get him to cooperate, threaten to slap the sanctions fully back on if he acts out in any way. It's not unusual at all for the west to partially lift sanctions in situations like this.

Sure, but the fact that you have to use "probably" in your reply indicates that it has no tangible effect. It's not a good protest. Nothing changes because he's not pissed enough or whatever the goal is to do whatever you think he should do in response.

It's a big reason that a lot of these people will never see the light and come to the left. To them, this is the height of activism. Make a mean nickname and daydream about throwing a taco festival outside the white house? Like he won't even be home. They will never get the permits. The whole thing would be one giant waste of resources, dead animals and single use plastic.
