The rainbow flag or pride flag is a symbol of LGBT pride and LGBT social movements. The colors reflect the diversity of the LGBT community and the spectrum of human sexuality and gender. Using a rainbow flag as a symbol of LGBT pride began in San Francisco, California, but eventually became common at LGBT rights events worldwide.

Originally devised by the artists Gilbert Baker, Lynn Segerblom, James McNamara and other activists, the design underwent several revisions after its debut in 1978, and continues to inspire variations. Although Baker's original rainbow flag had eight colors, from 1979 to the present day the most common variant consists of six stripes: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet. The flag is typically displayed horizontally, with the red stripe on top, as it would be in a natural rainbow.

LGBT people and allies currently use rainbow flags and many rainbow-themed items and color schemes as an outward symbol of their identity or support. There are derivations of the rainbow flag that are used to focus attention on specific causes or groups within the community (e.g. transgender people, fighting the AIDS epidemic, inclusion of LGBT people of color). In addition to the rainbow, many other flags and symbols are used to communicate specific identities within the LGBT community.

Captured another cat before it got shot by my dad. One left to go. This one let me pet it a bit before it ran off into the woods.

Gotta' loan my mom money to get the inside cat fixed. Found a place that'll do it for $230 or something, which isn't too bad. The fucking local vets here want $800 to spay a cat, which is insane. Love being in the middle of nowhere with no fucking social support at all. Suck ass.

I have to figure out how worry about money less. It's weird because I was much less worried when I was significantly poorer than I am now.

I guess it's because I have some measure of financial stability so I worry about losing that. When I was broke I felt screwed no matter what happened.

Went on TikTok and found myself surprised at how James Rolfe and Doug Walker keep being made into memes over 20 years since they first started

There's an amazing vegan restaurant in Dublin called the Saucy Cow, and honestly I don't know what alchemy they do there but the food is incredible. If you took a meat-eater and gave them a burger with cheese from this place they wouldn't even know they were eating a vegan meal

gaming

Friends, I'm honestly considering downloading an aim trainer and grinding for several hours because I'm embarrassingly bad at Splitgate 2.

I used to be silver 1 in Valorant, which I was genuinely proud of because of how much work I put into improving (started bronze 3). But I stopped playing years ago because I really was getting a lot more stressed out than anything else while playing (plus, I switched to Linux). Now in Splitgate I honestly feel like I aim about as badly as someone who hasn't played a shooter game in their lives. I can't believe how bad it is, actually.

After having accidentally made my rice blue last week, I experimented and I now have a portion of blue rice, a portion of red-ish rice, a portion of green rice and portion of normal white rice. I have given these rice different levels of spiciness. Should I serve them with beans of matching (Blue goes with black) or clashing colored beans.

I remembered about 5 years ago i put out 3 experimental noise eps that sound kinda like contact mics left on giant steel tanks left out in the august sun.

Listening back to them right now and it’s drony and relaxing somehow

Vegan substitutes are honestly really good in their own right.

There’s this cheese made from cashews I sometimes use with cooking, and it’s pretty good. I also love using hummus and tahini for sandwiches I make for work sometimes. Plus I never liked mayo anyways.

The newest 99% invisible is an interview with Ezra Klein about how deregulation is good, Elon Musk is right about high speed rail and unions are bad. He faces absolutely no pushback from anyone as he just says the dumbest shit that they even acknowledged was controversial before the interview began

[–] ClathrateG@hexbear.net 6 points 5 days ago

Well at least the titles accurate

Skyclimb was a really fantastic step forward for skyrim se but there's actually something much better. Skyparkour. edition 2 is the latest now. faster, more responsive. it's excellent.

and i'm not exaggerating when i say this mod, or even skyclimb(which i tried out first) are absolutely transformative. the most annoyance i ever had in this fucking game were rockwalls i ought to be aable to get over requiring long trips around. now you can just clamber up. hours-saving shit

Picking up speed

Running out of time

Going head to head

It's the way of life

You gotta fall down

Meet the ground

And to get back up again
