Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

This is a real threat of serious violence with a history of it actually being done, how could it be interpreted otherwise?

[–] dinren@discuss.online 49 points 1 month ago (3 children)

They will just claim sarcasm.

"I mean come on... Harharhar. Am I going to chase him down on horseback with my musket? Get real LibErAl MeDiA, it was A jOkE!"

It's like this asshole in Texas years and years ago. He is on stage and says "the only good Democrat is a dead Democrat!" The crowds cheer and then he adds "uhhh... You know the nasty media is going to take that out of context, I mean politically dead."

....yeah yeah. You said what you said and the poeple loved it.

[–] supersquirrel@sopuli.xyz 9 points 1 month ago

and they will continue to even as the instruments they bore into the heart of this country become covered in the blood of innocent defenseless people they are erasing at a supersonic clip...

[–] CalipherJones@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

And then cheer it on when it happens. MAGA ilk cannot be trusted.

[–] Bluefalcon@discuss.tchncs.de 61 points 1 month ago (2 children)

I suggest Mike Johnson should be dragged behind a truck.

[–] BigMacHole@sopuli.xyz 30 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Hey! THATS Terrorism! If you DONT want it to be Terrorism you have to Threaten DEMOCRATS!

[–] WhatAmLemmy@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

It was clearly a joke. And I wholeheartedly agree with jokes. Let comedy reign!

GJ mods on holding a random Lemming to a higher legal standard than the Speaker of the House on a "threat" they have no realistic way to carry out.

Man, the rhetoric this past week has really ratcheted up. These assclowns aren't going to be happy when a civil war really breaks out. Seriously, nobody fucking wins a Civil War. Currency tanks, economy goes to shit, people die on both sides, and everybody is afraid to leave their houses in case there's a firefight, or a bombing. That's the America they are asking for right now.

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 20 points 1 month ago (4 children)

Correction: Powerful people win civil wars. You just know that pricks like Johnson won't be out there fighting; they'll stay in their comfortable mansions separated from the chaos by first-rate security details.

[–] ThePowerOfGeek@lemmy.world 20 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Politicians hide themselves away

they only started the war

Why should they go out to fight?

They leave that role to the poor

(For those who don't know: "War Pigs", by Black Sabbath)

[–] vala@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

Just like witches at black masses.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Those mansions have addresses. Corporal Molotov can bring the terror to their door.

[–] rottingleaf@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Molotov was a diplomat (sort of).

And it's better to use an FPV drone with, I dunno, a canister of something good.

[–] whostosay@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Chef boyardee raviolis

[–] Tarquinn2049@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

One thing about people without empathy is that they actually literally don't care about people who aren't them, dying. It's even worse when they are also believers in zero-sum theory, since then they also think they are better off when more people die.

It's not that they haven't thought about how many people will die, they are actually looking forward to it, it's the point.

[–] NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Maybe, people get dragged through the streets in civil wars. Nobody is safe during a civil war, as much as you would like to think.

[–] AngrySquirrel@lemm.ee 22 points 1 month ago

It's always projection with these people

[–] BassTurd@lemmy.world 18 points 1 month ago

Mike Johnson should be investigated as a pedophile for his interest and sharing of his and his son's porn habits.

At least my call to action has merit. Fuck Mike.

[–] Rooskie91@discuss.online 18 points 1 month ago

Actually, every Republican representative at any level of government should be tarred and feathered. Thanks for the suggestion, Mike! Can't wait to see you.

[–] taiyang@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

I've noticed a pattern of deception lately. This comment came after a comment saying he'd never call for such a thing so that edits can focus on that part and edit out the tar and feather. They do that with Trump all the time, too, like with the Epstein files comment. You'll get the full comment if you look for it, but you know damn well the GoP propaganda is going to select which part of the contradicting message to show.

[–] ScrambledEggs@lazysoci.al 8 points 1 month ago

How Christian of him. Doesn't he also let his adopted son monitor his porn. Maybe this is a part of the new Christian values.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

Here's the problem. He's not technically wrong. Would do the country good for a lot of these feckless turncoats and shameless spineless little shits to experience the consequences of their vile policies.

But if we're tarring Newsom, Mike's also taking a hot oily bath.

[–] Placebonickname@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

Says the guy who is just sitting around watching shit go up in flames….

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 month ago

When the pendulum swings and Johnson is facing the people's justice, remember this.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Projecting again?

[–] shai_hulud@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Mike Johnson should be drawn and quartered, but by drawn, I mean a fishing line around his junk, and then the horses ass should be slapped...and by horses ass, I mean Mike Johnson.

[–] 0li0li@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

"MAGA" litterally means to return to how it was in the 17th century, right?

Tarring and feathering was still happening in the US until at least 1917, when it was perpetrated against union members in coordination with Tulsa police
