In China you don't have the right to loudly protest all of the imperialist wars that they aren't doing.

In America you have the right to impotently whine while your nation goes on killing rampages.

Yes, impotently whine with a broken spine and blown out ear drums from cop brutality

[–] Frivolous_Beatnik@hexbear.net 1 points 4 months ago (2 children)

Liberals still on that "winnie the pooh -10 bajillion social credit west taiwan" shit huh

[–] corgiwithalaptop@hexbear.net 4 points 1 month ago

Whats the Chinese counter to that? Like "minus one hamburger, home loan denied, -300 FICO score?"

Let's make that a tagline if it isnt already

Libs need racism like a fish needs water

[–] axont@hexbear.net 1 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (1 children)

Hey libs, it's a good thing when capitalists have their civil rights abridged and violated. That's what I want.

lol this constitution-worshipping shithead doesn't know that it says slavery is explicitly legal for prisoners

probably just a case of playing with words by a cryptofash

That was really cool of them to remove some snark but keep most of it intact.

Democracy is not an ornament to be put on display, but an instrument for addressing the issues that concern the people. Whether a country is democratic or not depends on whether its people are truly the masters of the country. It depends on whether the people have the right to vote, and more importantly, the right to participate; what promises they are given during elections, and more importantly, how many of these promises are delivered after elections...if they are only treated well by candidates during elections and are ignored after, this is not true democracy.

the eternal irony of America priding itself on democracy when the will of the people is openly disrespected by leaders who struggle to keep up 50% approval.

it's the same nonsense in Canada - leaders who campaigned on promises they never intended to keep are the ones moral grandstanding about democracy

please define authoritarianism

When a state does the usual things a state does but us-foreign-policy

[–] miz@hexbear.net 1 points 4 months ago (2 children)

places great significance on individual civil rights and freedoms

damn where does this guy live because it's not the USA

[–] BeamBrain@hexbear.net 1 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Those who don't move don't notice their chains.

[–] hello_hello@hexbear.net 1 points 4 months ago

You can notice which people are the ones who have never been victimized by a cop before.

[–] Philosoraptor@hexbear.net 1 points 4 months ago

In a high school government class.

[–] Kieselguhr@hexbear.net 1 points 4 months ago (1 children)

They always do this with the USSR too

When you point out colonial crimes and engineered famines in the colonies of western Empires, that's "unfortunate" and "sure, that's bad too", but USSR "is worse because it did it to its own citizens" us-foreign-policy

They don't know shit about fuck and they are so arrogant about it too

Good luck on your journey

Yeah, fuck you too

[–] Belly_Beanis@hexbear.net 2 points 4 months ago

because it did it to its own citizens

This is always such a tell. It shows they don't consider Native Americans, black slaves, or people killed in the Holocaust as people. All three of those groups were citizens of their country and those three in particular are probably the worst things humans have ever done to one another.

[–] Angel@hexbear.net 1 points 4 months ago

I view libs as uniquely racist because they are uniquely racist

As an actual anarchist this is so cringe.

Those of us against the war did so loudly while being highly critical of those in power

  • Dakota Access Pipeline
  • Ferguson
  • OccupyWallStreet
  • MOTHERFUCKING "FREE SPEECH ZONES"
  • The current crackdown on all Palestine supporters!

This list is fucking endless just since the turn of the Millennium! Everything this person says are "Authoritarian" happened right here! just-one-small-problem

EDIT: saying this with my whole chest

agony-limitless DESPITE HAVING ONLY 5% OF THE WORLD POPULATION THE UNITED STATES REPRESENTS 20% OF THE WORLDWIDE PRISON POPULATION! :society:

[–] VILenin@hexbear.net 1 points 4 months ago

You’re using a different dictionary. In the liberal lexicon authoritarian is when brown and anti-authoritarian is when white.

[–] Kieselguhr@hexbear.net 1 points 4 months ago

prison population

But they broke the law! maybe-later-honey

[–] GrouchyGrouse@hexbear.net 0 points 4 months ago (1 children)

It's not abuse of power (sorry, "authority") to use a military to blow up thousands of people for a lie because you could powerlessly criticize them for doing it thousands of miles from the front lines?

What?

So it's not authoritarian if your government ignores your objections and blows people up?

Has the one true power dynamics understander finally logged on? Are the prophecies true?

lisan-al-gaib

[–] miz@hexbear.net 1 points 4 months ago

modifying my definition of authoritarian from "any use of power I disagree with" to "any of use of power I didn't get to impotently disagree with in a designated free speech zone"

[–] Spike@hexbear.net 0 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Time to compare prisoner numbers

[–] robotElder2@hexbear.net 0 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I fucking hate the word 'journey' now. Why do obnoxious liberal douchbags need everything to be a 'journey'? Main character syndrome?

[–] Z_Poster365@hexbear.net 1 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (1 children)

politics for Liberals is a personal quest for absolution. It's a moral epic where they are the main character, and the primary goal is to alleviate their own guilt and "sin".

They do not have the view of politics as a collective project towards material improvements, of wresting power away from those who oppose our interests.

[–] Lemmygradwontallowme@hexbear.net 2 points 4 months ago

**They do not have the view of politics as a collective project towards material improvements, **of wresting power away from those who oppose our interests.

Hmmm...

Therein the arguments against socialist states. Every death under socialism is a failure of the government, because it dared to try to solve problems collectively. Under capitalism, deaths are due to the individual’s failures, and therefore no one’s responsibility. Therein the ability to justify angrily and self-righteously calling for a “return to normal” in the face of mass death and disablement.
